This will be my last post for CFS Squared – Tales of CFS. I have enjoyed writing here, for the past two years. But it’s time for me to move on now.
I must say, that this last word stuff is a little daunting. I kind of want to sneak away – and leave you with fun and quirky posts. But, I owe more than that to all of you, and to myself.
On more than one occasion, I have written about Do No Harm. I am going to share a little secret with all of you. Writing and/or following a health …read more

What does good in bed mean to me? When I’m sick and I stay home from school propped up with lots of pillows watching TV and my mom brings me soup — that’s good in bed. ~ Brook Shields

How to Combat Sleep Disorders the Disney Way

I found a short Disney film from 1953, on How to Get to Sleep. It has loads of ingenious ideas. Most of which backfire for the dog named Goofy. I love that he hangs a picture of someone yawning on his bedroom wall. I am definitely going to incorporate that into my bedroom decor.

Some national parks have long waiting lists for camping reservations. When you have to wait a year to sleep next to a tree, something is wrong.

A Musical Interlude

I try to post videos (especially music ones) on CFS Squared, because I think music can help us achieve restfulness, and sometimes even stillness. I listen to music all the time. In the morning when my alarm goes off, a classical music station quietly nudges me out of slumber. On my commute to work, I listen to whatever my ipod thinks I should – but usually it has something with a quick pulsing beat behind it (for energy), at the office- I listen to top 40 pop radio (because my coworkers like it), and when I get home, …read more

In The Future…

Today, was the third time this week that I stayed home from work. I am not able to do much of anything except sleep and drag my laptop into bed with me, to watch a movie. Even writing this little post is taking up a lot of effort!
In between sleeps, I managed to watch Fahrenheit 451, a totally trippy movie made during the 60’s based on the book of the same name by Ray Bradbury. It got me thinking about things that I missed, when I read the book when I was 14. Things that applied …read more

Tonight is the award show extravaganza known as the oscars. I will not be watching, but most of North America will be. In honor of this award show, I have put a new poll up on the side board. It’s all about the how many movies you watch a month.
For me, I try to get out to the movies at least once a month, I never get out more than twice though… although I adore going to the cinema. Please vote in my poll – then return to this post, and let me know what kind …read more
No TV- Are You With Us?

Television is a big energy sucker, and a really really big time waster. I don’t spend a tremendous amount of time watching television, but occasionally I can get sucked in. When that happens, I lose all sense of time… and I almost always feel terrible afterwards.
Char over at Weary Parent, had a super idea to go tv free for an entire week, and will be making her family do the same. I have decided to follow along. I don’t think it will be too difficult, I have lots to do without having a distraction like that …read more
