Richie is well known for her wild childhood and was adopted by Lionel Richie after he became her guardian at age two.

Advice-Have guests write parenting and marriage advice on index cards and pit them in a basket. Draw names for prizes.

Jessica Long’s Journey to the Olympics

Jessica was born in Russia in  1992 without the fibula bones in her lower legs. She was adopted from Irkutsk, Russia at 13 months. her parents realized that her legs would have to be removed below the knees (because there were misshapen feel protruding from the small portion of the leg below the knee).

“Doctors put casts over the surgical areas and inserted poles with little feet into the casts,” Beth (mom) said. “Jessica started walking almost immediately and was so active that she didn’t need physical therapy.”
“She was fitted for her first prosthetic legs about three months later and never looked back.

The word “can’t” doesn’t exist in Jessica’s vocabulary. She’s extremely competitive and tackles everything she tries head-on.

Currently, Jessica is gearing up for the Paralympics and competing in the Can-Am Championships. Jessica set a new World Record in the S8 100m butterfly, which also earned her “Swim of the Meet” honors and the meet’s “Swim of the Day” on Friday and Saturday.

Paralympic Jessica Long is Russian Adoptee

Eubank’s ex-wife, Karron, gave her blessing to the adoption and still lives with their daughter, Emily, 14, and son, Joe, 11.

Hutton met Eubank in a hotel lobby in Paris where they became good friends. He then flew the boys to Las Vegas for a summer holiday. The boys loved their time there and after flying home decided, with Eubank, to return.

Karron sees the adoption as only a piece of paper to allow them to get their schooling.

“They are there to go to school, get their trade and come home. They are doing exceedingly well and a damn sight better than they would in England. We look at it as a piece of paperwork to sustain what my boys want to do, and that’s it.

I don’t usually provide commentary but I think the media needs to let this one well enough alone (and sorry if I added the fuel to the fire by posting this). Sounds to me as if Irene has done a lot more good than harm in this situation. The boys obviously need a good home and she had provided one.

The family obviously knew that the boys NEEDED to get out of their current situation and into a better home and she was able to provide for them in the US. But, the only way to do it is if she legally adopted them with their parents’ consent.

So, did their parents really relinquish them or are they doing something for the boys that needs to be done?

Both sons appear to have thrived in their new home. Chris Junior has won a place at a business college and is following in his father’s footsteps as a promising boxer.

Sebastian hopes to become an American Football player. He reportedly wrote to the U.S. family judge handling the case, saying: ‘I love my Mum a lot and know it was hard for her to make the decision, but she knows Irene will not do us wrong.

‘If I was still living with my Mum I would be spending too much time on the streets with the wrong company and doing the wrong things.’

Karron Eubank said: ‘My former husband is without a home. He travels a great deal visiting his friends and acquaintances. He calls the children occasionally.’

Nadine Bauer, a spokeswoman for the Lenval Hospital in Nice, says that Jolie is well and that she had planned the visit for some time.

She will not give birth immediately.

Jolie Admitted to Hospital

Their first child, Omar, was stillborn. During a routine ultrasound they learned that he had no kidneys and did not stand any chance of surviving so Taniqua was asked to deliver him, stillborn. In honor of him Ware gave pendants to relatives. They were inscribed with his birth-date and his footprint.

Taniqua had two other pregnancies but both ended in miscarriages.  The second was conceived through a fertility specialist.

But the Wares never gave up hope for a child. In fact, fate intervened when Ware was on personal leave. A local pastor knew a woman who was relinquishing her baby, who was born on February 29.

The couple was matched with the birth mother and Marley, named after Bob Marley, was adopted.

DeMarcus Ware Celebrates First Father’s Day

Looks like Nicole Richie has “adopted” an adult attitude in order to raise her daughter in style. She has stopped cavorting, drinking, and doing drugs.

“I plan to be a good example for little girls that are looking up to me,” said Richie in an interview with Dian Sawyer in a Good Morning America Interview.

Meanwhile, she and boyfriend Joel Madden created the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation that helps needy parents get baby items.

Lisa Moran, Editor in Chief of Babytalk Magazine (sister to Parenting Magazine) says that Nicole has proved that she is a responsible mom. “Honoring Nicole Richie with a Babytalk Golden Pacifier Award might come as a surprise to some, but we felt that she deserved some recognition for her turnaround since becoming a mom.”

She adds, “She’s grown up a lot since the arrival of little Harlow, and her creation of the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation has demonstrated her efforts to set a good example by shining a spotlight on important issues affecting today’s families.”

Richie Rocks the Parenting World!

Madonna nor Guy Ritchie were present for the ruling.

The history on this adoption case is sorid, as David is not technically an orphan, as is the case in most orphanages. I don’t have percentages because I don’t think that anyone has ever done research on how many children are officially orphans but from my knowledge the numbers are pretty low.

However, in Malawi, there are over 1 million orphans due to the Aids epidemic and there is a ban on non-residents who want to adopt .

The Ritchie’s have been caring for David in their London home despite the Malawian laws since October 2006 when Madonna was granted temporary custody (he was 13 months). David turns 3 in November.

David’s father, Yohane, placed him in the orphanage when he was one month old, just shortly after David’s mother died of an Aids-related illness. His father believed he could not care for him and the orphanage would be the best way for him to survive. -BBC News

“Malawian law is fuzzy on foreign adoptions. Regulations stipulate only that prospective parents undergo an 18- to 24-month assessment period in Malawi, a rule that was bent when Madonna was allowed to take David to London.Speaking to reporters last week at the Cannes Film Festival, Madonna said the criticism hurt.

“It was a big struggle, and I didn’t understand it,” she said, comparing the process to the pain of childbirth. “But in the end I rationalized that, when a woman has a child and goes through natural childbirth, she [also] suffers an enormous amount.”

Madonna and Ritchie also have a son, Rocco, 7, and Madonna has a daughter, Lourdes, 11.”
