The Swan Song

This will be my last post for CFS Squared – Tales of CFS. I have enjoyed writing here, for the past two years. But it’s time for me to move on now.
I must say, that this last word stuff is a little daunting. I kind of want to sneak away – and leave you with fun and quirky posts. But, I owe more than that to all of you, and to myself.
On more than one occasion, I have written about Do No Harm. I am going to share a little secret with all of you. Writing and/or following a health …read more

Ummmm What?

It’s the end of the month, and like always have been a little curious about what has brought new readers to CFS Squared. I love looking at the key word searches that have been linked to this blog.
Now of course you are going to find searches like, “fatigue”, “chronic fatigue syndrome” or “mono”, or countless others that this blog is about. But sometimes some unusual ones, that make me smile come through the cracks.
Here is a list of 10 somewhat unusual key word searches, that led the way to this blog.
1. Does Slayer have a mascot? I …read more

CFS Squared Is….

First off, I want to thank everyone for the comments on this blog.  The comments are an integral part of this blog, the people who comment are just as important to CFS Squared as the writer.  I love being part of such a great community!
Now lets get down to business.  CFS Squared is of course about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and all of the stuff that goes with it (good and bad), and there is a lot of good that comes with this illness.  For the most part, I write about my personal journey with this illness.  …read more

A CFS2 Assignment

One of my very favorite things is the record Songs of Fox Hollow by Tom T Hall. It is probably the only album I own where I can sing every song. Its an album full of great life lessons. Very few people can tell a story like my man Tom. I found a video of Mr Hall singing singing his song “I Love” with Tammy Wynette. It will make you smile. With this post and video, comes a request. I would really like it if you would give me a short list of …read more

CFS Patients AKA Veal

It has come to my attention that there are 3 types of people who live with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
1. People who are able to live somewhat normal lives -and actively participate in their recovery
2. People who are actively participating in their recovery – and are making baby steps towards freedom from CFS – I am very proud of you all – its a tough road, but very rewarding.
3. People who take the pills that their doctor gives them, and that’s it (don’t even bother asking questions). Well not quite it…these people whine about how …read more

What CFS Squared Is…

Up until today, you may have noticed some silence on this blog.  The reason for it, was that I needed a bit of time to distance myself from CFS Squared, and the CFS community (in general).  Based on the response I got (mostly email) from this post, I had to look at why I write about this topic- and think about whether I want to continue.
Last week, I received a whole lot of negative feedback (most of  it did not make it to the comment section).  It was overwhelming, upsetting, and slightly threatening (although I may be perceiving that incorrectly).
I …read more

CFS Squared – A Retrospective

As you all know, I am celebrating my one year anniversary for blogging at CFS Squared.  To celebrate this occasion, I am picking my favorite posts over the course of the year.  I picked this post, because I realized that if I could link the muppets to CFS,  I probably could link anything….and of course I have been trying to do so.  You may have seen other seemingly distant topics that have been discussed here, such as  the Vancouver Canucks and the NHL, Paris Hilton, the Beatles, the Barenaked Ladies, my obsession with geeky movies, and others.
Anyway, here is favorite …read more

A Look Back at CFS Squared

To celebrate the anniversary of my first year of blogging at CFS Squared, I am pleased to offer a week of blog posts that I have a little bit of extra meaning to me.
The first post I will mention was written in April.  Its about getting your doctor to listen to you.  It has some pretty interesting tips.  And its fairly timely, since now more than ever doctors are too busy rushing around, to really sit down and listen to you, anymore.
Hope you like this selection.  I will be posting another one, tomorrow evening.
Oh in case you are wondering, …read more
