I’ve found some fun, free patterns for Christmas cross-stitch and needlepoint. These projects would make great gifts, labels for special presents or even hung on your tree. You could use plastic canvas or cross-stitch paper to make stiff ornaments, or use Aida cloth to make Christmas cards.

Here’s a cross-stitch pattern from About.com, designed by Connie Thomas.

This adorable Hallowe’en bookmark was designed by Bev Qualheim

Or if you want to get a little more ambitious, how about this sampler from Whispered by the Wind?

Enough to keep your itchy fingers happy for an evening or two? Don’t worry, I’m working on some projects for my machine-embroidery ladies too!

Ready to play in your studio again?

I thought it would be fun to post a great Canadian site for fabric – after all, I’ve got a lot of readers from all over

The Satin Moon Quilt Shop, in Victoria, British Columbia, has an amazing variety of yummy fabrics, notions, and even things like Shiva Paintstiks, which are a real challenge to find in Canada.

I’ve been mooching around the web to find butterflies to embroider on something…
What am I embroidering it on?
You’ll have to stay posted for that
I found some lovely designs out there, both for hand & machine embroidery:

Sarah Bradberry designed this one.
“Embroidery Designs” has a beautiful multi-colored butterfly for embroidery machines.
4-Hobby offers a simple, graphic butterfly for embroidery machines.
And for those of you who cross-stitch, Kreinik has a small & simple (but elegant) pattern.

Enough to keep you busy for the day?
