China Adoption Requests Increase

According to the USA Today adoption agencies are receiving an increase in phone calls from people who are inquiring about orphaned children in China.
“There’s lots of interest,” says Joshua Zhong, co-founder of Chinese Children Adoption International, one of the largest China-only agencies in the USA.
Inquiries have more than triples since the May 12 earthquake, which left an estimated 4,000 children orphaned.
A Senior Adoption Official at China’s Ministry of Civil Affairs states that they intend to give first priority to domestic adoptions.
The Washington Times reports more.
