I&#8217;ve written about my yo-yo garlands before, but I thought it would be fun to post a reminder &#8211; after all, I make these during the summer!

<p>Every year I start making small yo-yos, about an inch &amp; a half across.  Sometimes I just use Christmas fabrics, other times &#8211; it&#8217;s whatever makes me feel happy when I pull it out of my cotton fabrics.  I collect piles of the yo-yos &amp; then start sewing them together.</p>
<p>I normally just use a couple of short running stitches to connect the garland, but if you&#8217;re feeling fancy you could add a bead in between each yo-yo.  Metallic thread can add a festive touch &#8211; just use short lengths, because it&#8217;s notorious for tangling <img src='http://www.blisstree.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>I love making yo-yo garlands &#8211; it&#8217;s a quiet, relaxing project for summertime&#8230; even if it&#8217;s meant for Christmas!</p>
