We’ve all heard of sleep apnea. In the last few years especially, this disease has been talked about in great detail. But there is another sleep-related disease which may also be affecting your ability to get some shut-eye. That disease is upper airway resistance syndrome (UARS).

UARS happens when “something is slowing or blocking air in the nasal passages” and you can’t get enough air. Having a stuffed nose or even the way your tongue is positioned in your mouth may contribute to this.

If you have trouble breathing, your body doesn’t let you sleep as soundly as normally.
If you believe you might have this, see your doctor. In a French study, half the women with “chronic insomnia and daytime fatigue” were found to have some type of UARS. Often a Breath Right strip will help with this.
