“Celebrity Week” at the Health & Wellness Channel Begins Tomorrow

Who doesn’t peruse the People Magazine while waiting in line at the grocery checkout? Who doesn’t pick up an Us Magazine or its ilk when waiting to be called at the dentist? Even if you don’t subscribe, you still sneak some peeks at what so and so is doing or who you know who is wearing, right? I do.
Next week here at the Health & Wellness channel, we’re going to make it a little easier to focus in our your favorite TV star, movie actor, singer. We’re trying something out called “Celebrity Week” and each blog will have at least …read more

Infertility – The Celebrity Confession du Jour?

It seems that more and more celebrities are celebrating motherhood lately. It also seems that more and more celebrities are becoming comfortable with talking about their struggles to get there. Cindy Margolis wrote a book, Dixie Chicks Martie Maguire and Emily Robison have both spoken freely about their IVF treatments. Sportscaster Michele Tafoya is the latest to publicly discuss a subject that has been taboo for far too long.
I think that anytime one goes public with a private piece of oneself, it requires some bravery. You have to be ready for outsiders to judge you, question you, ridicule you, even …read more

Book Review: Having a Baby…When the Old Fashioned Way Isn’t Working

Spokesmodel and “Queen of the Internet” Cindy Margolis decided to pen Having a Baby…When the Old-Fashioned Way Isn’t Working: Hope and Help for Everyone Facing Infertility because she felt that there was a “lack of first person fertility literature” available to women and couples seeking alternatives and assistance getting pregnant.
At the time of writing, she was probably right. Fortunately, a lot has changed since Cindy (who is also the Celebrity Spokesperson for RESOLVE) decided to write her book. And I am hopeful that public perception will change even more as women like Cindy bravely share their struggles with infertility …read more

Happy Holidays from Fertility Notes!

Well! It seems that whilst I was busy knitting cooking baking wrapping, Fertility was all over the news (that’s a good thing). Fertility rates in the USA are approaching record highs, doctors are finally paying attention to fertility in female cancer patients, an internet celebrity and Resolve spokeswoman wrote a book on her own struggles with infertility and guess what? Young teen stars are indeed as fertile as any other teen.
I have a lot of catching up to do!
And I will. As soon as I finish knitting cooking baking wrapping….
I hope that you have a peaceful holiday season (and that …read more
