Knitting & Crocheting in the Caribbean (April 5-12, 2009 ~ onboard the Westerdam)
Beat the winter blues and gain new inspiration from two of the most cutting edge fiber artists in fiber design world. Cruise to the beautiful sunny Caribbean with Drew Emborsky and Annie Modesitt. Drew Emborsky aka “The Crochet Dude” is best known for his leading edge designs. Annie Modesitt is also teaching onboard and is known to be an unorthadox knitter and crocheter. She is most known for her combinational knitting technique and will be teaching it onboard this cruise along with her most popular classes.

It’s not your Grandma’s Calligraphy as lettering artist, Lisa Engelbrecht invites you to come and make your mark with various calligraphy tools at her upcoming class. She has always been an outsider in calligraphy circles and she thinks lettering can be done by virtually anyone. Lisa’s book, Modern Mark Making emphasizes inventive and personal letterforms, using the basic ballpoint pen to DIY handmade ones made of stim-u-dents or cola cans. Without years of training,dip pens and endless lining pretty much anyone can make an expressive,personal mark-these are great for handwritten letters, addressing Christmas cards or art journaling.
