Green Cleaning Products Go Pretty!

It’s funny, I was just reading about “green pet tips” the other day, and one of the things they said was to get a pet, not a fad. How true! Whenever there is a movie out about a certain kind of dog, I see people running out to get these kinds of animals, and they aren’t always a good match for your household. And what happens when you no longer want a pet? You tend to give them to a shelter. Rather than do that, think carefully about what kind of pet would be right for your family and lifestyle first.

• Loofahs
• Reusable cloths – you can buy packs of washcloths, use old cloth diapers, or cut up old clothing. Thrift stores are an especially good place to find old cleaning cloths.

• Microfiber sponge mitts
• Fight stains with the sun!

• Avoid plastics when possible and aim for natural bristles and wooden handles (like with a broom).
• Consider tools that do double duty – do you really need a brush for the tub and another for the sinks? No.
