I recently went to a beach party with a “white” theme. All the guests were invited to participate in the festivities by wearing white. Wearing white immediately sent me into a panic – as I knew I’d be balancing food and drink, and interacting with lots and lot of people. This was a recipe for clothing disaster!

If you always seem to spill something, you probably already know about the Tide to Go Mini pen. It great for quickly removing stains when you’re away from home, and it’s compact size make it perfect for traveling. Pack it away in your checked bags, or slip it into your 3-1-1 bag of liquids if you’ll be carrying it on. Once at your destination, transfer it to a purse or backpack, and you’ll be ready for any stain situation.

A bit of red wine slosh onto you? A bit of barbecue sauce? Or even ink, coffee, or any number of other stains that flock to the traveler in droves. Tide to Go Mini pen has quickly become part of my routine packing list.

And now I can wear white to a beach party!

You can find the Tide to Go Mini pen at your local supermarket or drugstore. It retails for about $6.50 for a package of two pens. Discount coupons and sales appear to be plentiful.

Whenever I’m in a hurry to clean, I end up doing just the basics and calling it a “lick and slick.” (My grandmother used to use this phrase a lot.) Basically, it’s when you make your house clean enough. I used to love cleaning and really enjoy spending the time to put things in order. But as I’ve gotten older (and married) it seems we are so busy and I never have time to clean the way I really want to do.

One way I do a “lick and slick” cleaning on the bathroom is by using these two products: an automatic shower cleaner and lots of disinfecting wipes. The wipes help to quickly clean the countertop, toilet, sick, and even the mirror. The automated shower cleaner helps keep your tub and shower area cleaner so you really only have to do touch ups to certain areas. With the wipes you can even spruce up the floor on those parts that get gummed with hairspray or lint.

This works especially well if you’ve got a busy weekend and just want to spruce up the bathroom, or if company just called you and is on their way!

We’ve been moving so I’ve used about 16 Magic Erasures to clean 4 years of grime off the old house and other people’s grime off the new one.
The Mr. Clean Magic Erasure is a housewife’s wet dream. Really. They cost around $2.80 for two. A little too much for me to throw away the nasty ones until they’ve crumbled into a fine dust (they disintegrate as you use them.)

The generic knock offs – and I’ve seen several brands in several different stores – cost about $1.05. So you save about 50 cents per erasure.

But do they work?

Well, I just wiped crayon off a kitchen chair, black Sharpie off plastic drawers and coffee stains off the computer.

Cheaper Magic gets a Blog Fabulous happy boogie dance!
