Disposable resources are not eco-friendly. Every item you use once or twice then toss is basically resources down the drain in terms of materials used and energy wasted both in manufacturing and transport. Luckily, there are currently tons of reusable options available that take the place of conventional disposables. Below are some traditional disposables and some alternatives you could be using instead. Even if you just choose a few disposables to give up, it’ll still make a positive eco-impact.

Most parents automatically reach for the Huggies when they think about diapering because it’s so easy and convenient. While its impact on the environment is arguable, it’s not exactly the best option for your baby’s sensitive bottom. Ever gotten a rash from wearing a sanitary pad? It’s like that with a disposable diaper, which people tend to leave on babies for longer than they should because they have too much faith in its absorbent qualities. There is also the risk of developing conditions such as asthma and male infertility, among others.
