Dressing for a date (especially a first one!) is something that women everywhere stress about. There is the classic scene where a woman changes her outfit a million times and ends up in her bra and panties when the date arrives to pick her up. This Fall pick out a few sexy pieces and create some go-to outfits so you are completely prepared when you have a date or an outing that might involve meeting someone with dating potential.
Fall is sometimes a little difficult to dress for because it’s in-between summer dresses and coats and scarves. Remember that you don’t …read more
Incredible Shrinking Torso

I’ve kept this shirt for 4 years because I am waiting . . .
for my torso to shrink
or the shirt to lengthen 2 inches.
I’ve got this crazy entitlement issue with my shirts. I feel I should be allowed to move my arms without showing my stomach.
The one with the pink scarf too. My mother bought them for me and it feels ungrateful to admit they don’t fit. What’s the statute of limitations on this?

Remember when Mrs. Banks sang,
We’re clearly soldiers in petticoats
And dauntless crusaders for woman’s votes
Though we adore men individually
We agree that as a group they’re rather stupid!
Cast off the shackles of yesterday!
Shoulder to shoulder into the fray!
Our daughters’ daughters will adore us
And they’ll sign in grateful chorus
“Well done, Sister Suffragette!”
From Kensington to Billingsgate
One hears the restless cries!
From ev’ry corner of the land:
“Womankind, arise!”
Political equality and equal rights with men!
Take heart! For Missus Pankhurst has been clapped in irons again!
No more the meek and mild subservients we!
We’re fighting for our rights, militantly!
Never you fear!
So, cast off the shackles of yesterday!
Shoulder to shoulder …read more

It was divine. Just what I needed.
Driving up I remembered that I had forgotten to pack any underwear. So, I chuckled at my tendency to multi-task and forget this or that and used it as a great excuse to buy some new ones at Target about half way there. I also bought Pink’s new CD as kind of a treat.
When I pulled up to her condo I realized my suitcase was not in my …read more
Back To School
I can not believe this! It is July 7, and I have already seen my first “Back-To-School” tv commercial! Didn’t the school year just end? Come On! Let’s give us all a break: kids and parents!
Often, we characterize life for a child as idyllic and splendid and all ice-cream-y…but I wonder sometimes if it isn’t a lot more like adult working-life. The stress, the disappointments, the anger and the exhaustion?
Let’s see if I can make some analogies that help to substantiate my thought process.
Getting ready for school…I doubt very much they have “dressing for success” seminars …read more
