I just read this crazy article on CNN.com about how all our medicines are in the public water supply. I guess we pee them out and then drink them again. Could this explain the increase in infertility and even precocious puberty? Inadvertant drinking of birth control and hormone treatments? And while researchers do not yet understand the exact risks from decades of persistent exposure to random combinations of low levels of pharmaceuticals, recent studies — which have gone virtually unnoticed by the general public — have found alarming effects on human cells and wildlife, states the article.The federal government doesn’t require any testing and hasn’t …read more
Anna Nicole Smith Dies Alone
I can’t help but feel such sorrow for Anna Nicole Smith, who died this afternoon.
After living a life filled with enough (some would say) lurid material that even Hollywood couldn’t make it up, I wonder if the world will be able to muster a modicum of respect and sensitivity.

Unlimited sick days
Five on-sight doctors (free)
TGIF Parties
Scooters
$ 5,000 …read more
“Day Without Immigrants”

It is interesting to me how a national event is mirrored in small towns. I work from my home each day, and on a typical spring morning, I usually endure the buzz of lawn mowers and hedge trimmers used by local landscape companies throughout the town. A good majority of the workers who tend to our lawns are from Mexico.
Today, it is dead silent. No mowers, no leaf blowers…it’s simply a quiet, glorious May day. Interesting juxtaposition, if …read more
