<p>The city has a rich history, including being burned after Sir Francis Drake attacked the city.&#160; Later, in 1668, pirates attacked and plundered the city, killing most of the residents.&#160; During it’s long history, it has been attacked by British forces, Seminole Indians, and Union Army troops during the American Civil War.   </p>
