Has he called her? No, but he texts her constantly. Texting is not her favorite method of getting to know someone and she’s grown bored with him.

Why don’t people call anymore? Texting is a lazy way to communicate. It’s impersonal and it’s easy to lose track of a conversation if you are texting with more than one person at a time.

If you’ve got a guy who insists on texting, but you are longing to hear his voice again, try these tips from Cosmopolitan magazine:

*Tell him to call you. Be polite, but firm. Explain that texting is okay in a pinch, but you’d like him to follow up with a real phone call.

*Let him know you appreciate the call. My boyfriend uses his phone for listening to his sports. Every since baseball season started, I don’t hear from him as much. I make a point to tell him that I enjoyed talking to him when he does call. (He has a great voice).

*Keep the call simple. Keep it short. Don’t critique him. In fact, it’s probably a good thing to have a subject in mind before the call. That will help you to avoid those awkward silences that can panic even the most experienced dater.

Quick Reads: Cheaters, Cohabitation, and Cosmo Explains All

“Research suggests that perfume not only makes you feel more attractive, but it can also act as a carnal catalyst. The more you know about scents, the better you can harness their power.”

The type of scent you chose determines the type of man you attract. 

If you chose something like Armani Code Pour Femme, with it’s fresh citrus influences, you are going to attract men “who are uncomplicated and enterprising.”  Uncomplicated?  Sounds refreshing to me.  Looking for a “reflective loner,” then mist yourself with a scent with oriental notes, like the classics Opium or Shalimar.   

Ryann Hayman,  in The Scents of Seduction at On the record magazine,  talks about the subject of scent more in depth, covering particular scents and their effect on the body.  For example, cinnamon is believed to aid in romance by increasing blood flow to certain body parts.

We all know that scents can trigger memories.  I can clearly remember a day more than 20 years ago, right after my now-boyfriend was my newly ex-boyfriend when this happened.  While working in a restaurant, I smelled a scent that reminded me so much of him that I was in tears. (I’m really not good with break-ups).  I can’t describe the scent, but my nose knows it. I’ve smelled it numerous times over the years and I always have a physical reaction to it.

These days he smells me all the time.  He does this deep inhale and then, “Mmm…”  Wow – I feel that all the way down to my toes. I love it and I will forever hoard my citrus scented spray that Bath and Body no longer carries for this very reason.  As I mentioned in, Looking Great For That First Date, I may chose flip flops over sexy heels, but smelling good is a daily requirement.

The Scent of Attraction

Then, I clicked on Body Language – Reading a Mans Body Language – Cosmopolitan.com where I learned that the forehead-to-forehead pose that S and I leaned into for a photo yesterday is a sign of trust. Cosmo covers body language in many different aspects, including casual and serious dating, as well as sex and couples who are on the rocks.

Next, I read How Men Think – Marriage – First Date – Cosmopolitan.com. This made me question what sort of things go through my mind on a first date. I know that I usually am looking to see if I feel a spark, but I try not to judge too quickly. Sometimes nerves get in the way and I might feel more comfortable and attracted on a second date. What do you think about during a first date? Do you have a check list?

From there, I followed a link to 21 Little Sex Moves That Will Rock Your World (and His!) – Redbook. Wow, this is seriously not my mother’s Redbook magazine. Spicy. And explicit, so if you are not truly interested in sexing up your sex life, don’t click on the link.
