This month as noted previously, the Lifestyles Channel is having a month long theme called Three Doors Down. We’re introducing our readers to some new blogs they might enjoy. My first neighbor is Hankering for Yarn. This blog is written by Noreen, a super nice blogger, obsessed with all things yarn.
Cool posts lately include:
Knit a Butterfly bag for Mother’s Day – I don’t really celebrate Mother’s Day, but love both butterflies and soft bags, so neat-o!
Woven “Earth Listener” Angel Doll – you just have to read the post to get it.
Frequently asked questions- Spool knitting with kids – it’s always …read more
Serious Art Supply Organization

This system seems a little pricy (at first) but one, it’s not so expensive that it’s overwhelming, and two, if you purchased an entire set-up like this when your kids are small, it’ll get you through their insatiable artistic appetite until they’re off to college.
If you yourself are a serious craft person, say you make crafts for money, or simply, crafts are your life-long hobby, a set-up like this could also pay off because it’ll save you time searching through boxes for the supplies you need. Sewers, crafters, and scrapbookers could all use this same set-up.
The nice deal with this …read more

When it comes to storage, I like to think up different and unconventional ways to use organizing items. Just because you find an organizing product down the bathroom isle at the store, does not mean you can only use it in the bathroom.
I love a simple utility caddy. Here are three uses for a utility caddy in your home:
Store cleaning supplies – Yes, I know, that’s not a very original idea but it is a great way to use a utility caddy. When it comes time to clean the bathrooms, kitchen, living room, bedrooms, etc., all you need is one …read more
Reader Tip: Dealing with Magazines

Do you subscribe to a lot of magazines? It is very easy to let your magazine collection get out of control. Maybe you are familiar with this scenario:
You get a new magazine in the mail and the first thing you do is skim through it. You notice several articles that catch your eye and you want to read later. When you have a few minutes, you scan through the magazine again reading what you have time for. You then put the magazine aside and tell yourself you’ll look at it later because you really want to keep that article …read more

I am really loving this Bucket Boss 56 Pocket Bucket Tool Organizer! This would make a great birthday gift, Valentine’s Day gift or a just-because-i-love-you gift. If the man (or woman) in your life has a lot of tools, this may be just what they need.
Tools are something that can be a pain to deal with if you don’t keep them organized. You can end up spending more times searching for the tool you need, then the actual project takes.
Keeping your tools organized can also help save you some money. How many times have you gone out …read more
Home Office Organization – Where’s My Desk Wednesday

I really like this video from Closets by Design. Their name is a little misleading because they are not just all about closets. In this video, they show you how they created an desk area for a client. This client loved to scrapbook and do other crafts, so they designed an area where she could do this.
Rethinking the Craft Area

Do you remember when I showed you how I organize my kids’ crafts? I was using the cube organizers pictured here.
Well, it was working just fine for awhile. I mentioned that it would need weekly maintenance to keep it up, but that I thought it was going to work just great. Guess what? I was wrong. It’s not working so well anymore.
Because of the deep drawers it made it very easy for my kids just to drop things in there and by the end of the day, each drawer was just a mess. It got to where they couldn’t find …read more

The Snap ‘n Stack by Snapware is one of the most innovative craft storage items on the market. It not only keeps your craft items connected together in one place, it also helps your craft area look more organized and uniform.
Pros
•Takes up less space than several containers would.

•If you do not attach lid and sections properly and securely, it falls apart and items fall out.
One of the biggest complaints I have heard when it comes …read more
Need More Storage – Think Vertical
October 15, 2007 by Julie Bonner

Think vertical is in every passionate organizers list of rules. Time and time again I hear people say that they can’t stay organized because their house is too small and they just don’t have enough storage space. Well, that is the case usually for two reasons. Number one, they have WAY too much stuff and they need to downsize and number two, they don’t look up. There is precious space that is wasted if you don’t think vertical.
Here are some “Think Vertical” storage ideas for you today grouped by room.
