One of my favourite places for visual journal inspiration is the Creative Clown blog. Today there’s a great tutorial for making background pages to journal on or to create further visual masterpieces. I hope you enjoy the free tutorial and let Zura know by leaving a comment for her. I like the wide scope of this idea. Zura invites you to use the image she has supplied, but you could use just about anything, especially if you are working to a theme. What a great sharing spirit.

I feel a bit mean not getting this news out earlier, so I’m sorry. That’s what happens when I get really busy. I tend to just scan my emails and do miss things that way. Anyway, hopefully it’s not too late to sign up for Zura’s Creative Clown Fun Art Journal e-Course, which began June 30. The cost is a mere $40 for three entire months of art journal instruction. Is that a bargain or what? Follow the links in this entry, or contact Zura from her website; Creative Clown.

I was really surprised to learn that Zura of Creative Clown forwarded this Arte y Pico Award onto me. Yet, it pleases me no end to think she finds my blog inspiring. My main hope with this blog is to get people writing/creating journals they will use and benefit from, so I accept the award if it gets anyone doing those things. In the spirit of the award I need to name five others who I think are equally deserving, in no particular order, the people and their blogs follow. The rules are posted below, too.

Mary Emma Allen for her awesome Quilting & Patchwork blog.

Rules:

The e-book is from a course developed by Zura. “Journal Prompt Cards” shows you how to make an artistic set of cards to use as journal writing prompts. Looks like something you can’t miss. I’ve already signed up and am waiting on my free e-book as I write this.
