Overnight Oatmeal

One of my favorite ways to take care of breakfast for my family is to have it either prepped and ready to go by morning, or to have it completely done by morning. I especially like things like cinnamon rolls that can hang out in the fridge overnight before being put in the oven first thing in the morning, and I love doing oatmeal in my slow cooker during the night as well.

The most important thing to keep in mind when you’re leaving the slow cooker on when you’re sleeping is to make sure there is absolutely nothing around it …read more

The New Crock-Pot® Programmable Slow Cooker

I am a Crock Pot fan, especially when the weather starts to get cool outside. I love to fill it up in the morning, and have supper ready when everyone gets home.
During the summer it’s grilling time, during the fall and winter I break out the Crock Pot at least once or twice a week to make some comfort food. I enjoy slow cooked meatloaf, chili, chicken, and stews. Yum!

I think I’m in love with this new Crock-Pot® Programmable Slow Cooker. It has a touch screen that you can use to program in your cook time, and even let the …read more

Fall Cooking: Crock-Pot Pork Barbecue

Just because it’s Fall or Winter doesn’t mean you can’t have that barbecue taste once in a while. Two ways to accomplish that is to cook meat with barbecue sauce in the over or broiler or take out your crock-pot and let it do it’s magic.
A crock-pot pork barbecue is one of the easy dishes you could make in the weekends by starting it early in the morning, leave it to cook for hours so you could spend some quality time with the family. Watch movies, read boks or play some board games while dinner is cooking in the …read more

Rival Crock-Pot On Sale

Every time I post a dish that I cooked on a crock-pot, most of my friends and commenters would say they need to get their own crock-pot soon. Well, this Rival Chrome Crock-Pot is just as good as any. It happens to be on sale by the way.
This Rival Chrome Crock-Pot is currently on sale for $27.99 at Macy’s. The size is 4 QT so that’s big enough for any roasts, or soups and stews kind of dishes. I love the chrome style too. Now I feel like buying another crock-pot .

Busy Day Pot Roast

Saturdays always seem to be the busiest day of the week and one of my favorite days to whip out the crock pot for some help. One of my most favorite things to make in it is pot roast because there are so many different ways you can make it, and so many different things you add to it!
I’ve used this recipe for several years and it remains one of our favorites, everyone always asks for seconds! I like to add about half a pound or so of baby carrots to the bottom of the crock pot before …read more

Lazy Sunday Cooking

One of my most favorite ways to cook is to use my crock pot, especially in the summer. I also tend to be in the mood to cook in the mornings or early afternoons anyway.
I put this in about two hours ago and will make some scalloped potatoes to go with it later. Yay for lazy Sundays!
