According to reports, the entire family is doing well and thrilled with the new babies. Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline are numbers five and six for the celebrity family.

Dice K and wife expecting second child

For those of you who follow Major League Baseball, more specifically the Red Sox, pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka (Dice K) will likely miss the ‘08 season opener in Tokyo which may coincide with the birth of his second child. The 27  year old pitcher and his wife already have a 2 year old daughter.
Dice K is excited about the child and thinks it will help him win a second world series.

Kevin Federline top ‘cad to dad’

Kevin Federline topped a recent In Touch Weekly poll of the most reformed badboys-become-fathers. As to the reason why K-Fed came in number one, once it became apparent how much of a wing-nut/loser/terrible mother Britney Spears was, he really stepped up his parenting.
To be perfectly frank, I was not quite sure what a ‘cad’ was at first, but Allwords.com defines the term as “a man who behaves discourteously.”
Close behind K-Fed on the list of reformed hard-lifers was Russell Crowe. More from the Times of India.

Curt Schilling still saves a seat for dad

As the Red Sox roll towards the World Series, I thought I would share this article about pitcher Curt Schilling’s relationship with his father before his passing.
Schilling and his father were very close and his dad actually never got to see him into the majors. However, Schilling owes much of his personal and professional success to his father.
“My father was the glue that held us together. When he died, I kind of lost my family.”
According to an entry on www.fathersandfamilies.com, in a July 2005 interview, “Schilling revealed that in every difficult situation in life, he first asks what …read more

Actor John C. McGinley, who plays the role of the overbearing Dr. Cox, and his wife are expecting their first child as a couple in February. McGinley already has a ten year old son from a previous marriage and is excited about being able to give him more siblings.
“Nicole and I want to have an army,” he said. “You know, we want to have as many kids as we’re lucky enough to have. I’ve always wanted to surround Max with brothers and sisters and that’s what we’re going to do.”
McGinley sounds like he gets genuinely involved with his son Max, …read more

Brad Pitt won’t drink while his daughter is choking

In yet another article aimed at deifying celebrities and making everything they do seemingly brilliant, stuff.co.nz reports on how selflessly Brad Pitt has decided to cut back his drinking after seeing his daughter choke on an ice cube.
“You have to be absolutely on top of every situation. The other s**t doesn’t work anymore. When they wake up in the middle of the night you have to be there.
And you can’t deal with children when you have a hangover – that’s just a misery!”
Wow, he’s incredible.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not picking on Brad. I do think it’s commendable …read more

Anthony Kiedis reveals newborn’s name

The Everly Brothers and a bear clan; those are the inspirations that Anthony Kiedis and partner Heather Christie used to name their new son, Everly Bear. Kiedis told People Magazine that they narrowed down from a long list of names, but somehow I think there was probably no overlap with the list of baby names my wife and I are compiling.
Kiedis , the Red Hot Chili Peppers front man’s, and Christie gave birth to their first child on October 2 in LA.

Grandpa dads?

A recent article in the New York Daily times makes the bold claim that Grandpa dads are the latest thing. The examples they use to back up such a claim are Nick Nolte, 66, Tommy Mottola, 58 and some old guy in a piece of stock photography, 112(?).
The article claims that, according to parenting expert Dr. Michele Borba, grandpa dads may have an upper hand over your average Joe (or Bill) for a number of reasons. Wisdom, experience and financial stability are among the factors. The basic premise of the article is apparently that to be a grandpa dad you …read more

Marriage and fatherhood linked to lower testosterone

I’m not quite sure what I’m getting out of this article, but it seems like an interesting tidbit worth noting.
Researchers at UNLV recently found a correlation between the testosterone levels of men and their status as a husband / long term partners and dad.
The studies, conducted by UNLV anthropology professor Peter Gray, are among the first of their kind conducted outside North America to show that hormone levels differ significantly not only between fathers and non-fathers, but also between single men and men involved in long-term marital relationships. These kinds of novel research on hormones and human partnering represent an …read more
