In 2009 I’d like to declutter and organize…

Well, it’s November decluttering crew. (Year. Whizzing. By.)

Here’s what’s coming up at Declutter It this November…

• It’s time to get decluttered and organized for the holidays. Of course we’ll start by looking at Thanksgiving, but it’s also wise to start in early on the winter holiday decluttering process.
• Holiday gift guide time! We’ll be looking at cool organizing and decluttering products that will also make stellar holiday gifts.
• Just for fun we’ll look at some holiday decor and entertaining tips that won’t overwhelm your life.
• Everyday tips – as always I’ll post general tips about organizing and decluttering. If you’re looking for some inspiration for keeping it simple this season (simple is decluttered) you might want to consider joining in on the Buy Nothing Day challenge over at Tree Hugging Family.

If there’s anything you like to see during November, let me know in the comments or shoot me an email. You might even want to subscribe to Declutter It, so you don’t miss a thing.

Happy November!

Maybe once I get back I’ll do a little series about how to move fast, or why NOT to move on the fly, which is what I’ve been doing. Moving on the fly, is sadly, not very organized.

Declutter It News

First off, you know, I promised to do a round up of all the office spaces in the Lifestyles Channel, and just realized that I never did. Geez – look at me all unorganized. In any case, I posted my office space a few days ago, and if you’d like to see where other bloggers blog click here. There are some great office examples – I suggest checking it out.

Coming up in May…

The Lifestyles Channel here at b5media is having a cool theme event called, “Three Doors Down.” Each week in May, I’ll be highlighting a neighboring blog that resides, you guessed it, 3 doors down from mine. I’ll be taking a stab at decluttering each of these blog’s topics which include; jewelry and beads, yarn, motherhood, and fatherhood. Hmmm, do you think I’ll be able to declutter parenthood? We’ll see.

Also, I’ll be attempting to declutter this blog. I’ll be picking up the blogroll, adding some new links, and organizing the categories for easier reader searchers. If you know of a great organizing blog let me know in the comments, and I’ll visit and possibly link to it.

Upcoming topics: I took a look at the poll that previous blogger Julie posted, and noticed you all are interested in office and living area decluttering so we may be focusing heavily on these areas in May (and ongoing). We also may be looking in depth at photo organizing – which is one of my problem areas (I do have a couple organizing issues of my own).

Declutter Your May

We’re having a major change here. Julie has decided to pursue other opportunities, and due to time constraints, she’s not going to be blogging here anymore. She’s been offering up stellar organizing advice for a good long while here, and she’ll be missed.

The good news is that Julie’s not vanishing from the blogosphere. If you’d like to visit her, she’s blogging away at the following blogs:

Changes Here at Declutter It

As I was poking around at some other fellow bloggers’ blogs, I noticed that a lot of them have a theme for the day. That’s when I had my “Aha!” moment. Declutter It! needs a schedule.

This will help keep me and my blog on the right path and also hopefully help out you, my lovely and loyal readers.

So this is what I came up with:

Where is My Desk? Wednesdays – This day is all about that home office. From bills to files to piles and piles of paper. We will also cover the computer, your office supplies and when to turn off that phone so you can get some work done. We have voice mail for a reason people!!

It’s basically an 8 week program with 4 steps included. (I can already guess what those four steps will be.)
