The scrapbook challenge site aims to help scrapbookers in general to focus on the use their craft supplies that were otherwise already forgotten, or worse, may be neglected. Each week a challenge is posted with specific instructions on what embellishments or particular tool to use. The design team then share their own take on the challenge or any technique they may have applied to the same.

Crazy For Kits Design Team Call

Graphic 45 is thrilled to announce our 2nd Design Team Call!

We are looking for 6 talented designers to participate as members of our design team. Previous publication and design team experience is encouraged but not required. We’ll be looking more at your individual style. If you have a hip vintage look and the flair for the drama than YOU might be just what we’re looking for!

Keep in mind our focus at Graphic 45 is on papercrafting – our goal is to show the world the endless creative possibilities our vintage papers allow!

Members of the G45 Design Team will be compensated with the following:
• Bio complete with headshot, link to your blog, and resume on G45 website.
• Kit containing the papers we will want you to use for the upcoming months submissions
• Possible teaching, publication, manufacturing opportunities

G45 will retain the right to use design team member’s likeness, designs, comments, blogs for publication or as we see fit, giving the design team member full and proper credit.
Concurrent design team positions with any other paper manufacturer, kit club, publication etc. are acceptable. Every 6 months the design team will be reevaluated.

• Have your headshot, bio and link to your blog on our site
• Keep all of your work and may submit it for publication, etc. as long as you credit the products used were from Vintage Plum’s kit.
• Receive a 20% discount on any add-ons you would like to purchase as long as they ship with your monthly kit

Do you love to use all the newest products? Then this design team call is for you! I am looking for 3 talented Canadian ladies to be apart of the design team for Lisa’s Scrap Shack!

Compensation: As a DT member, you will earn a $15 dollar gift certificate every month (free shipping on this order) and will be sent a variety of embellishments to use on your layouts or cards.

Requirements: 3 month commitment

Tuesday Delight: Lisa’s Scrap Shack Design Team Call

Crop Suey, an online kit store and more, is looking to add a guest designer to our team. We are looking for a fresh and new contributor to our team. We are interested in people with all styles and levels of experience who are interested and able to be an active and integral part of our blog and forum.

Your term is one month, you will be the featured guest designer on our website and blog.

You will be required to complete 4-5 projects during your month as a Guest Designer with the Crop Suey kit that we will send you. You will need to blog weekly, posting one project per week. During your month, you will also be required to post one tutorial featuring a crafting technique that you applied to one of your projects.

We require that you have a blog of your own, where credit for Crop Suey products and ideas are credited. You will also have a link to Crop Suey on your blog.

You must be active on our blog, leaving comments and posting once a week.

Tuesday Delight: Memorable Seasons Design Team Call

In March, Scrappy Hours will have been posting challenges for 6 months which seems like a good occasion to add some new DT members. To be considered for the Design Team, I want you to create a card or layout inspired in some way by the Rascal Flats song, My Wish.

So, here is what you will want to do. Create a card or layout inspired by the song and post a link to it in the comments below. If you do not have a blog to post it to, you can email it to me at the address listed on the right side of the page. I will be accepting entries until Feburary 1st and will make my selections by February 10 at which time I will notify DT members who have been selected to officially extend the invitation to join the team. New DT members will be announced along with the challenge to be posted on February 15 and their first challenge will be posted on March 1.

Tuesday Delight: Scrappy Hours Design Team Call

To be eligible you must:

• Submit four art pieces as assigned below.
• Be available to travel to Phoenix, AZ, (expenses paid by Spellbinders) Wednesday, April 15, 2009, and remain in Phoenix until Sunday, April 19. There are no exceptions to this requirement.
• Be available to serve a term as a designer from May 1, 2009, through April 30, 2010.
• Capable of completing all requirements on time for the team during the 12 month placement.
• If you make the finals round, you will need to complete an assigned project by February 20, 2009, to Spellbinders.
• Be able to submit art electronically by scanning or photographing it.
• You may not currently work for another manufacturer of any Die Cutting Products.

Contest Art Requirements:

• Is your style fresh and funky? Upscale and sophisticated? Simple and elegant…..show us your best in a 12×12 layout.

PLUS

• Using apertures, pop-ups, pull-outs or basic and simple, we want to see your magic happen when it comes to card making! Submit one card.

PLUS

• Show us your altered ego! Through creative altered ideas, whether its home decorative projects, calendars, journals, or jewelry, we want to see your best! Submit one altered project.

PLUS

• Submit one rubber stamped project, the choice of style is yours! There are no limitations, so make it fun!

PLUS

• An essay, about 500 words sharing a little about your personally and about yourself as a designer. Why is paper art your passion? Why do you want to be on the Spellbinders Design Team? Has your work been published (not required)? Do you have a blog (not required)? What do you want Spellbinders to know about you?

• Please include on the bottom, if you have or are involved in, the following (does not count for your 500 words) 1) Blog address 2) Creative Resume Address 3) Design Teams past and present (links to sites if there are any) again, not required, just want to know

Your ORIGINAL creative, innovative designs. Something that makes us go “WOW!” Something that says to us that you love what you do! We would like to know the story behind each item, told in journaling, in photographs, or by other means.

You are not required to use any Spellbinders products in your entries, but after all, we are a die cut company and it certainly couldn’t hurt. Spellbinders dies are universal and may be used in most leading die cut systems, please refer to the compatibility chart for instructions. Also, art does not have to be new for this contest. It just has to be your original artwork.

Design Team Tenure Requirments:

• Monthly: one layout, one card and one altered project, one option style project.
• Trade Shows: A minimum of six trade show projects per year, to be assigned.
• Consumer Shows/Education: 2 Layouts, 2 cards for Education and/or Consumer booth, 1 technique board/year, other projects as assigned.
• On Line Forums:Involved on a weekly basis with at least one on-line forum
• Encouraged: Active with your own blog.

These are just minimums…you can submit as many projects as you want throughout your tenure.
Submission Schedule:

All entries must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. on February 1, 2009, Central Standard Time. We sincerely regret that we can only accept entries from residents of the United States.

Tuesday, February 9, 2009, Spellbinders will contact the top 20 entrants and invite them to continue to the final round of the Spellbinders 2009 Design Team Contest. These finalists will be sent product to create an assignment for the final round of the competition. Finalists will submit their special assignment entries on February 20, 2009, to Spellbinders.

On Thursday, February 25, 2009, Stacey Caron, President of Spellbinders Paper Arts will be making personal phone calls to each one of the lucky winners of this contest! A minimum of eight Design Team members will be notified that day, so be sure to list every phone number you want us to try!!!

You must be available to fly to Phoenix on Wednesday April 14, 2009, and remain in Phoenix until Sunday, April 18. Spellbinders Paper Arts will pay for all expenses for this trip. Your Design Team assignment will officially start on 5/1/09 and last until 4/30/10. Your first projects will be due on 5/1/09.
