Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! We might just have a new type of oral diabetes treatment. It is derived from yeast and yes, that did make me giggle since yeast is in bread and bread is carbs and carbs turns to sugar and… you get my point.
It is called glucose tolerance factor, GTF, and is essential in understanding how your body builds a resistance to insulin and can use it an ineffective way at different parts of the day or in differing situations.

Well at least there is one thing on the up and up in the way of diabetes treatment and management. It seems that US men have taken it upon themselves to be “screened” and to then follow through on diabetic treatment.

Stolen Insulin Pump Puts A Damper On Teenager’s Beach Trip

I was reading through diabetes message boards and news sources today when I came upon a story about a teenage boy that had his insulin pump stolen while at the beach. You know what? Sometimes we take things for granted. First of all when I was 15 the only thing I worried about was where I played soccer that weekend and what friend was going to spend the night. Second, I am fortunate enough to deal with my type 2 diabetes with no injections.
