I’m not sure how I feel about it, since I did sign up once before and didn’t get much out of it, but I know the secret is in your motivation and dedication. This year I’m (oddly enough) overflowing with it, so here goes: my Self Challenge, Round II. If anyone who reads this blog has signed up, find me!

I did it– I broke down and signed up for Self.com’s challenge. I am meieli– I need to find my user link! I’m also going to go over and become friends with Christina tonight.

So when I signed on, I did my usual. I went straight for the food. I love learning new, healthy recipes, and I must admit that the Self exercise challenge wasn’t exactly thrilling me for Month 1. Three days of exercise for 25 minutes? I’m not feeling particularly inspired by that… but the FOOD! That’s a different story altogether. My diet could always improve, and even though I’ll be slogging through those exercises, I have dedicated much more time to choosing my Top 4 Spring/Summer Weight Loss Foods. Out goes the chocolate. Here comes the:

1. Watermelon. It kills your cravings for sweet stuff and also quenches your thirst.

2. Tabouli. I’m planning on mixing in a ton of salad greens, herbs, and fresh veggies for a light mix.

3. Fruity desserts. I’d like to find a fruit I don’t like. I’m going to branch out and go all tropical this year, with fruit salads including Passion and Ugli fruit.

4. Naturally low-cal drinks. Boo to the diet stuff! I’m headed for natural teas sans sweeteners this time around.

I’ll let you know how it goes!

I was paging back through some of our older posts and checking out the comments here at Burning the Scale when something caught my eye. I ran into this one about this one about diet pills producing minimal effects, which got me thinking about diet aids and one really, really interesting (albeit negative) post I read about Alli and its side effects over at a full-figured blog called Fatshionista. It sounded unpleasant at best, and truly intrigued me.

I’m not one for diet pills, and I usually ignore them altogether. I have enough to worry about when I’m paying attention to my veggie intake and multivitamins (plus all the gym visits) to get into this end of weight loss at all. However, I’m wondering if readers or our other co-bloggers here have considered Alli or another weight loss pill. Many of us in the plus community get tempted to try them, and we’d love to hear more about your experiences. Were they like the one I read over at Fatshionista? Or have you never tried diet pills/aids, but have considered them? Comment below and let me know!
