I’m a girl on the………curvy side and although I went through a period of time when I wasn’t seeing anyone, I’ve always felt that I possessed a certain amount of sexiness. I’ve read about women worrying about their thighs while in the moment and I find that perplexing.
I’m a girl on the………curvy side and although I went through a period of time when I wasn’t seeing anyone, I’ve always felt that I possessed a certain amount of sexiness. I’ve read about women worrying about their thighs while in the moment and I find that perplexing. When I am “in the moment,” then I am in the moment – not giving the size of my thighs any thought at all. It probably helps that my boyfriend is on the “curvy” side, as well. I have always felt that he finds me attractive.

The purpose of the study was to bring to light the fact that having an active sex life doesn’t have a whole lot to do with the size of your ass. Doctors may make assumptions based on looks:

Dr. Marie Harvey, a reproductive health specialist at Oregon State University who worked on the study, frets that your doctors won’t concern themselves with your sexual well-being if they don’t think you’re getting any.

“Some medical practitioners may not do appropriate follow-up with women who are overweight; they might assume they aren’t having sex unless they are told otherwise,” she told reporters.

Ridiculous assumptions based on looks? So it isn’t so. <insert snarky snort here>

Health issues aside, a woman who is comfortable in her skin is going to be a happier, more fulfilled person. She’s going to be confident and attract admirers. Contrary to what a woman might think, men are not all expecting to find a Victoria’s Secret model’s body underneath her dress. It’s pretty odd that someone as educated as a doctor could make that same mistake.

What do you think? Do you agree with the study’s findings? And if you are feeling especially brave and share-y: Do you feel that your body image has either helped or hurt your sex life?
