Dogs Trained to Recognize Low Blood Sugar

I’ve heard of the dogs of diabetics being able to recognize low blood sugar and always thought it was pretty amazing. Now, dogs are actually being trained to detect low blood sugar in Brtiain. How can they do it? With their very sensitive noses.
According to one source, “a dog’s hypersensitive nose can detect incredibly small changes that occur before a hypoglycemic attack.” When a diabetic’s blood sugar dips low, their breath and body emit a slight change in odor that a dog can detect. This will be extremely helpful, especially with children and frail patients.
