This would be perfect for your office or home mail center.
The Pulp Bulletin Board is made with used magazines that have been super packed together. You can use it with typical push pins or wedge business cards into the small spaces. For just $20, this is one cool green board.
Where To Recycle CD & DVD Cases

In the last post I discussed saving space by transferring all your discs to one single holding place – such as a folder or box. This does, however, leave you with a lot of empty cases. You could toss them, but they’ll just sit in a landfill; then your great, great, great grandkids can find and use them I suppose.
You can recycle instead of toss:
Some people want your old cases. Sign up on Freecycle and see if someone needs them.
You can ask if your local library needs them. Some might.
Many cities do have recycling centers that take old cases. However, …read more
Clean & Green Video

At RiverWired there’s a new video up from the Green Eye expert, Liz Dahmen, about how to clean green and reduce clutter.
It’s a little too hopped up for me; but I’m a pretty laid back kind of girl. Still, there are some excellent green decluttering ideas offered and if spunky gets your cleaning mojo going, then you should absolutely check this video out.

Build Your Own Kooky Cardboard Box Desk

I posted my office space a few days ago along with some other b5media blogger’s desks and work spaces. If you’re now maybe feeling like a change of office furniture could do you good, why not try the cardboard desk? This individual actually bought all the boxes, but I know you have a garage full of boxes just screaming – “Take my contents to the Goodwill and use me for something darn it!”
Or maybe not. Still, you have to admit, in a pinch, this is a great idea. Very green if you don’t buy new boxes. The downside – no …read more
Do You Zwaggle

I didn’t even know what “Zwaggle” meant. Then a b5media blogger Jody Reale from a great newly launched blog, The Hawaii Traveler sent me an email about them.
Zwaggle is a new place online that can help you get rid of clutter. Their description:
“Zwaggle is a national network of parents who have come together to share. It’s simple: You receive Zwaggle points (or Zoints) by giving your gently used things to other families, then use those Zoints to obtain “new” things for your family.”
This is a great reuse, decluttering, eco-friendly idea. I would try it to get rid of stuff. I …read more
Another Dry Erase Board – Seriously?

I know, dry erase boards – so overdone, right? Every organizing junkie on the planet recommends them. (Even me).
However, here’s the deal. When you blog people like to send you free stuff. That may sound great, but I don’t like getting free stuff. I think we’ve pretty well established that I don’t love a lot of extra stuff, and while I sometimes get handy items that I use, mostly I get stuff that I just turn around and give away in a contest or to a friend.
That said, I received a different sort of white board item last October. I …read more

Of course you have cute kids – all kids are cute. Well, most kids. My son Cedar has this friend who always whines, “Wwwwwhhhhhhyyyyyyy????” no matter what I ask. That’s so not cute. But I digress.
My co-blogger Peggy over at Tree Hugging Family scored some awesome kid on-the-go storage. Take a look:
How cute are these! Plus they’re from Envirosax – a company who specializes in artistic, eco-chic shopping bags. These are green and adorable. Your kid can store everything on-the-go in them.
At Tree Hugging Family we’re giving away three bags to 3 adorable kiddos and one of them could be …read more
Organizing by Simplifying

With Spring coming up I bet many of you are thinking, “Spring cleaning!” Maybe not that excitedly, but still. In any case, I think that one of the best ways to organize is to simplify. That said we’re going to have a little spring simplifying along with our cleaning this year. Actually, I’ll likely talk about simplifying your life well past spring, but I like how “spring simplifying” sounds.
To clarify, when I talk about simplifying, I’m talking about ditching some of that stuff you own, or stuff you buy, or new stuff you think you need. This includes the entire …read more
Recycling Three Ways + Bonus Cow Idea

In Humboldt, we lived on the beach, in a tiny house with no heat – just a woodstove. Cold often and tiny meant no one ever came over. We always had to meet people at the park or farmers market. That was sort of a bummer. The plus side was we also rarely had to tidy up – and that included our recycling. We’d just toss it onto the sun porch, and then on recycling day, scramble to get it into the ugly old bins. But, hey it worked.
Eventually, you decide you’d like nicer looking recycling bins to organize all …read more
