Outrage & Moral Indignation Addiction

Am I the only one who would like to take a break from outrage and moral indignation?
Yes, there is injustice in the world.
True, George W. Bush is a bad mother-bleeper who needs to go sit on a ranch and think about what he’s done for a while.
Yes, there are still homophobics in California. They love marriage and monogamy so much they don’t want to share it.
There are also gays in California and some of them want to get married so they can have all the legal rights and responsibilities marriage provides.

And yes, there is a crazy …read more

President-elect Barack Obama

We left the party and sent the kids to bed last night when we were sure of the election outcome.

Obviously, I’m thrilled that my children will have a fundamental mood in the country, and from their leaders, be one of optimism rather than fear.

Forget fear people. It will do nothing to empower anyone.

I’m going to soak it in today. Optimism and hope taste a hell of a lot better than fear and anger as an American Sentiment.

My daughter is as thrilled to wake to a world of Barack Obama even though her friends’ parents tell them that “Obama is a …read more

2 American Joes

Joe the Plumber sits on Joe Six Pack.

John McCain and Sarah Palin’s depiction of the American man:

Drowning his anxiety in beer every night, after being knee deep in shit all day long.

(Of course this is most excellent if you happen to be in the beer industry like the McCain’s.)

What Would YOU Do with $1 Trillion?

What We Could Have Done with the Money: 50 Ways to Spend the Trillion Dollars We’ve Spent on Iraq, by Rob Simpson looks like it’s worth reading.

For only $9.95 you could buy a book that examines how short sighted your government has been by going to war with Iraq.

I myself have just been thinking – we could have developed all the energy technology we need right now over the last 6 years of the war, if we were only willing to spend the money here instead of fighting Iraqis for their oil (and don’t pretend our international “security” policy isn’t …read more

Ultreo Toothbrush – Bloggy Giveaways

I’m Tracee Sioux and I write Blog Fabulous here at b5media’s Lifestyle’s Channel.

Quick, subscribe to my RSS feed, otherwise what if we never see each again?

I write a lot about feminism and that includes the types of B.S. undergarments and hygiene marketed to women in articles like these: Her Way Sucks, I Prefer His, “Clean” Bikini Line and Mood Shaper in which I actually published a photo of myself in a full body girdle (what won’t I do to make my point?)

I write about feminism and the changing roles of women and how women can create their own power …read more

Military Men

My dad retired a few years ago as a Col. in the Utah Air National Guard. He was active duty Air Force when I was growing up.

Last week he swore my little brother into the Navy. My brother will be a Navy Chaplain, serving those men and women who need compassion and spiritual guidance in the face of the extreme conditions of war and separations from their families. He’ll serve in the reserves until he completes a masters degree in theology.

“Was dad really, really proud when he swore you in?” I asked my brother.

“Are you really, really proud?” my brother …read more

Capitalist Irony?

Republican Politicians – often fearful of their own egoic creation of “The Government” ( otherwise known as themselves) often loudly protest any Government involvement in commerce.
No regulation, they say. The market will take care of itself.
Let the heads of banks make whatever loans they want. Their sense of self-preservation will protect the people from greed and fraud.
Turns out, unregulated, bankers are greedy and don’t care much whether Joe Blow can make his mortgage – cause they sold it as soon as the bad loan papers were signed.
So today, The United States Government becomes, essentially, the fiduciary …read more

If McCain Doesn’t Show for Debate

John McCain may not show up to the debate tonight – essentially his job interview. He has to take a nappy nap after working on the economic crisis HIS Party CREATED with all their deregulation. Here’s what I have to say about that:

PUSSY!!!

What’s the Matter? You SCARED?
You Chicken!!!!
