Even though it’s really warm here in Perth, Western Australia, I know a lot of you live in the other hemisphere. It’s cold or at least heaps chillier than it is here for you at this time of the year. Journal writing courses are a great way to fill in those longer winter evenings, so take a look at a couple that are coming up soon:
Sheila Bender’s list of journal writing & related courses
Sue Meyen’s Journal Magic classes
Elizabeth Bezant’s courses – the popular Writing from the Heart course is almost full

The other day a good friend tagged me with this challenge. I’ve decided to make a journal writing prompt out of it; at least to challenge you to use it that way. So, if you feel like sharing seven weird things about yourself, go right ahead. Please use the comments section below or leave a link there. If you feel more comfortable just write them in your journal.

I was surprised to receive the Rockin’ Girl Blogger Award on Saturday. My good friend Elizabeth Bezant bestowed this honour on me. After a little investigation I’ve discovered this fabulous idea began with Roberta Ferguson.
So, next is the passing on part. I need to pick some girls to give this award to. Ok, here goes:
Shai Coggins who opened the door to online creativity for me
Cyndi Lavin for her inspiring & creative blogs; Layer Upon Layer, Bead Arts, Mozel Tov
Anne Wayman has The Golden Pencil, excellent for freelance writers

Elizabeth Bezant of Inspirational Moments wants your personal essays. There are currently four books to fill with personal stories. Be sure to read Writing a Moments Story, Submission Guidelines and Tips on Stronger Writing. Even if you never send your essays in, the four themes make excellent journal writing prompts.
