Got my copy of ProBlogger: Secrets for Blogging Your Way to a Six-Figure Income yesterday. Gonna snuggle up this weekend, in my tent at the lake, with b5media’s own Darren Rowse from Problogger.net.
Here’s what I know both cause I Know Thyself and cause I’m doing that free Marcus Buckingham career course on Oprah.com – I loath the advertising-techie-html-code-geek part of blogging. I hate it so much I feel an emotional anger and frustration when doing it and therefore I avoid it. I very often go to a site, don’t know my own password and fantasize about punching in the …read more
The Small Business Whisperer
The Dog Whisperer often says that he “rehabilitates dogs and trains people”. In many episodes of his show, he will also say that dogs live in the present. They do not understand the past and the do not consider the future.
Hmmm. I wish Ceasar would come to my house and teach those principles to me, not in terms of my relationship with my dog (although I do not understand why Trotter still barks at the UPS guy) but in terms of my entrepreneur state of being.

It’s Beach Season Once Again.
Here in the Northeast of the U.S., we have endured very strange Spring weather. Winter didn’t actually leave us until early April, then we went through a heat-wave in May, and then a rash of dangerous flooding in June.

Change of a dress
As I oversee the the daily details of The Pet Set, I listen to the whistle of the morning and evening NJ Transit trains, on their way to and from Manhattan. That used to be my train.
I used to be a suit and cute shoes kind of girl, durning my years in corporate-land; now my attire is made up of, what I like to refer to as, “active Lab-wear” — which is stuff you wear as a home-entrepreneur and “home Labrador Retriever mom, ” — jeans, rugby shirts, and sneaks. Before, I used to carry a Metro …read more
Someone out there hears us
It’s Easter Sunday, and I should be starting dinner; but I just haaad to tell you about a new magazine I picked up yesterday, maybe you recognize it: Pink Magazine? Their tagline is: finally a magazine for professional women!
Pink is a beautiful magazine, wonderful layout — clean and crisp and just chock full of relevant, intelligent features, advice and highlights about some of the most fascinating women in both the corporate and entrepreneurial worlds. And they also have some thoughtful art that accompanies each piece, not the regulation stock photography that you see in some publications.
Examples in the April/May …read more
