Meieli: Getting Healthy, Plus Version

Hey, I’m Meieli, and I want to introduce myself and throw myself into the mix of other Burning the Scale bloggers! I signed up to collaborate with my fellow b5 friends and get healthier this year, and I can’t wait to share all my challenges. . . LOL. I’m going to cook up a health scheme that’s a touch French Women Don’t Get Fat, my favorite “healthy lifestyle” book, and hopefully add in small, friendly workouts on a regular basis. Tomorrow’s the first day this year that I’ll be in the gym… definitely not the last.

Back In Skinny Jeans had a great video post recently about the reasons we gain weight over the holidays (an average of 8 pounds). I won’t spoil it for you, but she mentioned lack of exercising as well as stress.
Did you know that stress can make you gain weight without actually eating more? A stressed body releases more cortisol, a hormone that’s linked to slower metabolism and weight gain, especially in the midsection.
