Fabric Postcards from Your Quilting Scraps

My daughter has finished some more fabric postcards for her swap and put a few up on her Meandering Threads blog.  To come up with ideas, she fell back upon her scraps and began putting them together.
As Beth says, she seems to use many leaves in her project.  Maybe she’ll become known as the “Leaf Lady” or “Leaf Quilter.” 
 This is one I like because of the off center leaf and the border only on one side.  I think the colors coordinate well, too.

Information About Round Robins for Quilters

I’ve come across a variety of Round Robins, whereby a quilt or fabric art piece, makes the round of the artists, with each adding to it. These can be conducted among quilters who meet online or those who gather in person periodically.
*Fabric books, such as my daughter mentions at Meandering Threads.  Each fiber artist contributes a page to the others’ books.
*Quilts with each quilter adding a strip to make it larger.
*A hanging with each person starting it, then the others contributing as it makes the rounds.
*ATC (Artist Trading Cards) whereby each one adds a card to a collection.

Searching Through Scrap Baskets at a Quilt Shop

My daughter Beth and I had fun this morning searching through the scrap baskets at the local quilt shop.  Beth needed some thread for her current fabric art project.  So, of course, we browsed the shop and chatted with other quilters who were out on this bitter cold, near zero day in New Hampshire.
“Not even the cold can keep quilters from haunting their favorite fabric shop,” I mused as we browsed.
Then Beth and I discovered the shop owner adding fabric pieces to the scrap basket.  These were of various sizes, colors, patterns, and textures.
