Yesterday, June 21, was the longest day of the year in North America and along with the longer sunlight hours comes hot summer weather. And, along with hot summer weather comes the risk of heat stroke, a frequently fatal and often preventable result of intense heat. Up to 40% of people who develop heat stroke die.

Ana back in middle eastern news: Kareena Kapoor

Last week, I blogged about Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor’s shrinking body.
It seems that the disappearing star has made more news headlines thanks to a few recent fainting spells.
As the City Times, an offshoot of the Khaleej Times Online, reported yesterday, Ms. Kapoor’s size zero is causing quite a stir.
Claiming to want to be like Victoria Beckham (a.k.a., Posh Spice), Kapoor says she isn’t starving herself. In fact, she says:
“I am not thin. The media makes me out to be. I don’t diet. One look at me and you know I am quite healthy.”
