Here are my top recommendations for a fall shoulder season vacation. These are listed in no particular order, and you could have an amazing time in any of these locations.

Fall Can Mean Shoulder Season for Travelers

Shoulder season is that fringe time in between high and low season. For many destinations, fall is shoulder season, and it can be a perfect shoulder season to travel.
Think of high season as being the very peak time to visit, with all favorable conditions (snow in winter, sun in summer, everything is open and operable, etc). In such perfect conditions, prices are also going to be perfect. . . perfectly high.
