Great Father and Son Moment
Nothing like taking your son or daughter fishing. It is a great way to bond, get to know your child, and just get some good quality time in with them and teach them the finer things in life. Nothing like seeing your own children experience these wonderful moments. Check out Chris Cobbett and his son out on the water this past week.
Enjoy!!
Blogs I Read Every Day
Some people have asked me if I spend time reading other people’s blogs and, if so, which ones. And the answer is “well of course I do!” I will list on the top 5 blogs I read probably daily. There are probably well over 30 blogs I read weekly or twice a week. I hardly ever comment on blogs I read which I need to spend more time doing, but the ones I spend time reading each day are:
1) A Family Runs Through It – Family Phil is a Stay at Home Dad and home schooler out of Idaho.

Father’s Day Story
As a dad of 5 kids and one who loves the outdoors I spend my time when online reading through both parenting type blogs and outdoor type blogs. One of the blogs I read is a new one based out of Arizona called Bow Hunting Maniac. This Father’s Day Garth, the author of the blog, wrote a story about he and his dad out spending some time fishing, and exploring the wilderness. His father turned 80 and it was time to go back to where they spent some time in the past.
Well I won’t spoil it. Go read this …read more
Back to School.. Back to Normal…

It was much needed time off for me though. I do feel a little better now that the kids are back to school today and I can jump into my normal routine. Granted I love to spend time with all my kids… and look forward to summer …read more
Daddy Speedlinking – January 4, 2007
Thought I would do a little speedlinking this morning.
Anybody interested in attending a Stay at Home Dad Florida Fishing Trip? Right now it is in the making. Head over and show your interest.
Being Daddy announces it will no longer continue to post new material to its blog. Sorry to hear that.
I also noticed a good detailed post on how to shop for a toddler bookshelf. I think having books all over the house is a good thing. We all know how I feel on that issue. Read my post on reading to your kids.
Mike will no longer be …read more
The Transition From Summer to Winter
Check out my new tent I got this past summer. The thing is enormous. I can stand up in the center no problem. Camping and going fishing with the kids will be something I will miss this winter. But, now we will move on to sledding and making snowmen. I would like to get out more and do some ice hockey. I know they will like it. We have a public ice hockey rink not too far from here.
Here are some pictures of the kids from last winter. My personal favorite is Elizabeth taking the sled and sliding down the …read more
