Food and drinks that taste good are not always bad for us, I found a great article I thought I would share with you.
Dr. Valentine Yanchou Njike M.D., of Yale Prevention Research Center, conducted a research study on people ages 30-75. Those participating in the research were over weight, this placed them at a higher risk of cardiovascular disease.
Each person in the study was given an 8-ounce cup of sugar-free cocoa, sugared cocoa or a nonfat milk drink each morning for six weeks.

I just saw this ad (click for a larger image) for Welch’s American Concord Purple Grape Juice that claims it helps promote a healthy heart.
Concord grape juice flavonoids may promote healthy arteries.
Preliminary research suggests that flavonoids may function in ways other than as antioxidants in the body. Treating Heart Disease With Dark Chocolate

Forty cardiovascular disease patients at Bart’s and The London, Queen Mary’s School of Medicine and Dentistry may be treated with dark chocolate which has a high level of flavonoids. Flavonoids are anti-oxidants which may reduce LDL-cholesterol levels and reduce the hardening of arteries, blockages, and clotting.
Some tips for using dark chocolate to improve heart health:
Only a couple of squares of dark chocolate a day, approximately 25 grams.
Chocolate should be high quality.
Chocolate should contain at least 85 per cent cocoa.
Chocolate should not be high in sugar.
