Repairs to squeaky hardwood floors scares everyone, after checking through some of the sites there a couple that I think will make us feel it is possible to do ourselves.

Squeaky Stairs

As stairs are only made up of three pieces, stringer (which is the side supports), the riser (which is the facing between the treads) and the tread (which is the piece you step on), the noise must come from either loose nails holding them together or movement between the pieces.
If there is a gap between the stringer and the treads you can use either wedges or you can insert a new piece of wood to the stringer (glue and screw the wood to the stringer) to stop the movement. Sometimes just nailing down the treads again just doesn’t stop the …read more
Squeaky Carpeted Floors

I just bought an older house about a year ago and in that year have discovered a few squeaky spots, which mostly are under to carpets. Downstairs the basement has been finished with ceiling tiles installed. This like most people it has had me scratching my head until I started to research how to go about fixing this problem. After seeing this one video and seeing what to do and the product to use, I feel I should have done this a lot sooner.

For today’s safety tip I want to spend a few minuets talking about your knee’s, or maybe it’s my knee’s, or just knee’s in general.
