Losing the Holiday Pounds

Everywhere I look, there are articles on losing weight before Christmas. Here’s one — The Dream Diet: Lose Weight While You Sleep. And here’s another: How to Get Through the Holidays Without Weight Gain.
Well, I’m working on losing a different kind of weight these days. (Yeah, yeah, yeah … my body weight will always need some adjustment.) I’m finally letting the FlyLady rule my roost this month, and I’m losing the household clutter. YES! Have you tried this lately?
When I went down to the basement to pull out our Christmas decorations, I decided it was time to start hauling off …read more

A High-Energy FlyLady Cleaning Day

I’ve been learning more about high-energy diets and am TRYING to eat more proteins and less carbs. Ruth Schaffer at Eating Fabulous explains the nitty-gritty of why protein gives you a longer-lasting source of energy.
So, even though I get the crunchy-munchy carb cravings when I’m on a writing deadline, on days when I need high energy, I stick to snacking on low-fat string cheese, tuna salads, yogurt, nuts, and protein bars.

Because this is so stressful for me (taking everything out of the closet/room, decluttering, reorganizing), I’ve been taking breaks and snacking on endorphin-friendly …read more

Gourmet Grill Gift Basket

Summer’s not over yet! I thought this gift basket looked way too much fun.
I’ve been doing some heavy-duty Flylady decluttering this summer, and I’m starting to think giving food items is the best idea. Why give people something that will become clutter in their home? Clutter sucks away my energy — as I’m sure it does yours.
I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t love a gift like this. And it looks like a great excuse to throw a party!

Round-Up of Lively Women Bloggers

I’d like to occasionally highlight a few recent posts that I find inspiring. Here are some women who are making great progress on their journey toward better health. I hope you can stop by their sites and say hello — sort of like a cyberly pat on the back.
Blair at Scribblings by Blair. Her recent post on weekly goals was full of positive ideas. She’s hanging in there, trying to stick to her healthy eating and weight loss agenda despite selling her home, moving across the country, and keeping up with four kids and a husband with a …read more
