A New Website For Food Network Fans

There’s a new website for Food Network Fans, called I Love Food Network (of course!). The new fan website features all of your favorite Food Network stars.

Foodies can get the latest news on their favorite Food Network programs, star happenings, and news on the latest food trends.
I browsed around a while to see what fans were saying. Chopped is one of my favorite new Food Network shows, and one fan suggested they have a judges Chopped, where the judges have to face off. I’m sure it won’t happen, but it sounds like fun to me. They should get to experience …read more

Winner of the Next Iron Chef Prize Pack

My recent giveaway for an awesome prize pack featuring the Next Iron Chef goodies and Alton Brown’s newest cookbook, “Good Eats: The Early Years,” was a great success! I had a lot of fun seeing who everyone’s favorite Food Network personalities were as well!

It seems a lot of entrants share favorites as far as the celebrity chefs and cooks go, with Alton Brown, Paula Deen, Guy Fieri and Bobby Flay leading the pack! There was no right or wrong answer, of course, and the winner has been chosen from random draw.

Cooking Tools: Mezzaluna

When you cook, do you have certain kitchen tools that you feel that  cannot cook without?  If you end up in another cook’s  kitchen, do you feel off-balance without your stuff?  Sort of like trying to write with the wrong hand?
I like to have my own tools. I like my cutting boards, my knives, and my wooden spoons. They feel comfortable and familiar in my hands. One of my favorite tools is a flat cheese grater that used to belong to my Great Grandma. It has a fine-size grating section that is perfect for Parmesan or citrus zest. I have a stand …read more

The Food Network and Mexican Food

I love the Food Network. My favorite chefs are Bobby Flay, Guy Fieri, and Jamie Oliver.  Hot guys who cook. What could be better than that?
I watched the Food Network show, Grill It! with Bobby Flay today. The show works like this: Bobby has a guest on the show who prepares one of their specialities on the grill. Bobby prepares a seperate dish with the same main ingredient.
For example, today Alex, from California came on to prepare his Mexican Shrimp Enchiladas. When they introduced him, he was grilling Carne Asada Tacos in his backyard, using a green salsa.
That’s the sort …read more

The Next Food Network Star Update

Are you following this season’s Next Food Network Star? I never seem to catch it on Sunday lately, but I usually catch up later in the week when they re-run the episode.
Most of them seemed to struggle this week with the hot peppers. Teddy went home this week, and I have to say that didn’t disappoint me too much after his behavior the week before. I think the judges had just had enough of him. He didn’t do bad in this challenge, so I think it was his overall performance that knocked him out of the competition.
If you missed this …read more

‘Three Sheets’ Moving to FLN

My husband and I are so excited for this news! ‘Three Sheets,’ an “international travelogue/pub-crawl television series” hosted by comedian Zane Lamprey, has been rescued from the network graveyard by Fine Living Network.

Originally airing on MOJO HD (which was only available via certain cable and satellite providers), Three Sheets was dropped last December when MOJO itself was canceled.
The irreverent 30-minute program featured Lamprey jetting around the globe, settling in everything from hole-in-the-wall pubs and taverns to swanky wine bars to beach-side huts. He starts out with a quick lesson about the area he’s in and what drink they’re best …read more

Are You A Next Food Network Star Fan?

Are you a fan of The Next Food Network Star? I’m behind on checking out this weeks episode. We weren’t home much this weekend, so I didn’t catch the show. I did see that Brett is out, and there’s already some major drama going on.

Check out the scenes for next weeks episode, it looks like things could get interesting.
I can’t wait to catch up on The Next Food Network Star, and check out both this weeks, and next weeks episode!

Milkshake For Grown-Ups

Weekends I make my stand when it comes to the television.  I pay the bills, I bought the TV, if I want to watch something that is not SpongeBob or Hannah Montana, then I can.  I’ve been watching the Food Network, as I work, and they were doing a special on different burgers.
Then, they cut to the Neely’s. Gina Neely shares a great milkshake for grown-ups that features Vanilla ice cream, white Chocolate liqueur, Coffee liqueur, and Brandy. Oh, yum!
If this sounds good to you, grab your blender and your computer – you can find the recipe for Gina’s Grown-Up Milkshake …read more

Summer Recipes From Chef Michael Symon 3

Here’s the last recipe you need to make the Food Network’s Michael Symon and Pilsner Urquell’s summer meal. I’m a pushover for pasta, so I think this is my favorite dish. It’s a close call though, the summer tomato salad sounds pretty great too.
This recipe uses Brandywine tomatoes, that’s my favorite heirloom tomato. I always have at least one plant of Brandywine’s growing in my garden. This summer I have them growing in red and yellow.

Linguini with Heirloom Tomato, Capers, Anchovies and Chilies – Summer Recipe
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup brandy wine heirloom tomatoes, peeled, seeded and diced
3 cloves sliced …read more
