New York Magazine has taken upon the daunting task of ordering New York’s best restaurants (along with introducing their new star system).

Puck At It Again
Wolfgang Puck, the 80’s chef to the stars and todays gourmet frozen pizza maker (among other things) has opened a new restaurant in Vegas:
NBC’s Las Vegas is the home of famed celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck’s newest restaurant. With great fanfare, the Montecito Resort & Casino prepares for the grand opening of Wolfgang Puck’s seventh Vegas restaurant, Wolfgang Puck at the Montecito. Portland Fry Report
Due to an unforseenedly long break from New York life (yes, that is a word, leave it), I have been unable to begin my serious foray into Food Network experimentation and deconstruction. I have, however, rediscovered my passion for French Fries.
A couple of years ago, I wouldn’t really consider a meal full unless some form of friend potato was involved. Post-college, I relaxed slightly on this one, realizing that, well, the french fry obsession was a bit much. Recently though, the love has been reinvigirated–my dream in life is to start a one food blog, much like SliceNY, or …read more
Ray Ray Scandel
Sorry to have been such a deadbeat blogger this week, but I wasn’t about to let this juicy story fall between the cracks. New York Post’s Page Six reports that the lovely Miss Rachel Ray may have some skeletons in her closet:
December 27, 2005 — LONG before Rachael Ray became Oprah Winfrey’s favorite cook and a star on the Food Network, she was a deadbeat who had to leave Pace University because she squandered her tuition money, according to a well-placed source.
Ray dropped out of college and returned to her family in the Adirondacks, in the process leaving behind …read more

Also, if you’re interested in winning a case of wine (and who isn’t), you should stop over and take Dr. Vino’s 2005 Wine quiz. It only takes a few minutes, and a fresh case of wine would be an excellent way …read more

A Menu for Hope II
Chez Pim is at it again. Last year Pim put together a raffle of food blog related prizes to benefit the victims of the tsunami in Southeast Asia. This year, the proceeds will go towards the victims of the earthquake that hit Northern India and Packistan.
But what fun would it be just to come begging you for some dough, even if it is for a great cause? So, in order not to turn our otherwise fun blogs into the PBS pledge break bore, we’ve put together a huge list of cool, fun, and personal gifts -like only we could- …read more
