Ever considered fostering pets? Now’s your chance! On November 29, Petfinder.com is kicking off the first-of-its-kind “Foster A Lonely Pet For the Holidays” program in partnership with the Hallmark Hall of Fame Movie, A Dog Named Christmas, based on Greg Kincaid’s popular novel.
Inspired by the book and movie, Petfinder is working with its network of 13,000 shelters and rescue groups across North America to give families the opportunity to welcome an adoptable pet into their home for the holiday season, ideally from Christmas Eve until New Year’s Day.
Interested foster-parents-to-be can visit Petfinder.com to find the participating shelters …read more

We’ve had our four foster kittens for nearly a week now, and it’s safe to say that it was a good idea. They’ve got all of us wrapped around their little paws, but we’re making sure not to get too attached!
It’s been so long since we’ve had kittens (our three family cats are all pushing 13 years old) that we’d forgotten what distinct little personalities they can all have.
We’ve got one that’s very shy and cautious, but once she warms up to you she’s your best friend (she’s the one whose tummy you can see in the crate in …read more

This may become a regular series, the way we’re going! We had our home inspection this morning for the kitten fostering we’ve been looking into, and have been approved!

I’m very excited just the same, and think this is going to be a great experience for all of us.

Yesterday my family and I stopped at the pet store to pick up some dog food. In the front of the store they had cages set up with cats and kittens available for adoption, so of course we had to take a little detour.
While my girls ooh’d and ahh’d over the kittens, my husband and I got to talking with one of the volunteers about the three cats we already have. Though we’re not “in the market” for any more pets we do miss having kittens around (and the girls have never had kittens!), the volunteer mentioned that they can …read more
Gail Porter Out and About

Hello magazine have a couple snaps of Ms. Porter out and about with her daughter, Honey. Here’s one. In addition, I picked up a few tidbits:
Gail and boyfriend James Lloyd seem to have recently been “on a break,” though their back together now.
Fostering is still on Ms. Porter’s mind:”It is a tough decision but I’m not going to have any more children. Instead I’d like to foster. I’ve been to see Barnado’s with regards to maybe fostering a child with special needs.“
What’s with the sunglasses? I just don’t get that fashion trend.
