Work by Damian Aquiles will be included in the upcoming group show “Just What Are They Saying” (with a focus on art that includes words or letters) at Jonathan Ferrara Gallery in New Orleans, January 17 – February 28, 2009.
Missing Letters (below) will be featured, and the other art displayed in this post may be found online at Jonathan Ferrara Gallery.
From Damian’s artist statement:
“I like to work with used materials, for the concentrated energy that emanates from them, they have a lot of light. I don’t work with trash, but with last life.”

Je suis très heureux de présenter cet artiste. (I’m very happy to introduce this artist.)
Edouard Martinet has been working in Brittany France for several years, and he’s shown his work around France and abroad.
Working with found materials from junk yards and brocantes (flea markets), Edouard assembles his pieces without welding. As you look at his sculptures, try to imagine all their individual parts that have now been given new life.

Mante religeuse

Autruche

Grenouille

This is from the work-in-progress section. I’m guessing it will be called Araignée.
To see more of Edouard’s sculptures, visit his website.
