With all the prompts about collage I felt another for Freaky Friday might be good. Here are some suggestions. You could reread your journal looking for Freaky Friday prompts you have previously responded to and make a collage about them. Or respond to any of them using collage only. You could create a collage journal entry with no words at all. Often we do feel everything is working against us, even if it isn’t true. Today write a journal entry about what you would do if you did not cope. Allow yourself to describe the things you would do if you weren’t coping. See this as an opportunity to let go of the stress of trying to cope. Write your list quickly. Get it out. Don’t censor your thoughts, just let go of the idea of coping for the short time it takes to write your journal entry.

So, what would happen if suddenly time was not an issue? What would happen to your day if you no longer had to be somewhere by a certain time or need to know how long before you start dinner or pick up the kids?

Sounds crazy, I know, but your journal is a place to try out different perspectives. What effect would no time have on you? Would you suddenly have time for a lot more things? Would these be the things you’ve put off for years? Investigate in your journal what would happen in your life if the clock stopped.

I hope you enjoy with journal writing challenge. Please leave any comments in the section below.

This morning I heard the news the people responsible for the murder of a friend had been caught. I felt relief & that somehow justice does prevail. It’s not that I was close to this man anymore, but I didn’t wish for those responsible to get away with killing him. It got me thinking about how different life might have been if this man had not been killed.

I wrote a journal entry, in the form of an unsent letter, to him today. I wanted to let him know I’d forgiven him for the hurt he caused in my life, mostly because I know I will never get a chance to tell him now, but also because I needed to write something about him in my journal that helped me let this all go.

Spend some time writing in your journal to someone you can no longer communicate with. If this person hurt you in any way, let them know, but express how you have moved on from that time. Tell them about your new life. Thank them for the good things you did have together.

I hope you enjoy this journal writing challenge. Please leave any comments in the section below.

I spent the day serving food, talking and listening to family members talk. It was a fun & relaxing day. For this journal writing challenge spend some time writing in your journal about your Christmas day, but as if you were a child again. How different would your day be with no other responsibilities than to have fun? What would you do that you no longer do that you are a grown up? Write in your journal about the best things Christmas brings to children, from the point of view of yourself as a child.

This afternoon hubby, the little guy & I took a drive down to Fremantle. It was quieter than expected for this time of year, but we really wanted to take a look at the markets. I always enjoy seeing the regular stalls and whatever else is new. We walked by the Town Hall and for some reason I noticed the statue of John Curtin for the first time. I sat not far from the statue and watched people going by. Not many of them even acknowledged John as he stood overlooking the people. I couldn’t help thinking what he would make of Fremantle in 2008.

Take some time to write a journal entry as if you were a well known public figure from the past. You might like to take note of some local statue to help you with this journal writing challenge. You may also need to research them a little, but that’s one thing the internet can help you do well. Use their known outlook from the time they were alive and write about the situation of your city or town in general, but also let them speak about your own life. How would they view the things you do? Try not to allow this to become a way of looking down at your own life. Allow this voice from the past to focus on the positive aspects and changes your life makes obvious.

I hope you enjoy this journal writing challenge. Please leave any comments in the section below.

Her newsletter asked the question; “How Can I Trust Myself Enough to Choose the Path of Self-Kindness?” The idea got me thinking, as the question was intended to, and I figured it would be good to write a journal entry as if you did completely trust yourself, enough to be kind to yourself, even if it was just for one day. Write about what you would do if you did fully trust yourself. How would your life be different? What decisions would you make if you did treat yourself with kindness? How differently would others treat you? Spend time writing in your journal as if this was your reality.

Today is Friday and that means it’s Freaky Friday. If you need to know more about this journal writing challenge please read the First Freaky Friday entry.
While reading and enjoying the different prompts and input on the 2008 Advent Calendar from Heather Blakey so far this week I really enjoyed the Make Your Own Alter Ego by Kerry Vincent on Day Two. This fits right into the Freaky Friday theme. Take a look to find out how you can create your own alter ego. I like the idea and will be writing this one up in my journal over the [...]
Post from: Blisstree

Today is Friday and that means it’s Freaky Friday. If you need to know more about this journal writing challenge please read the First Freaky Friday entry.
Today I read an article about how a Nigerian born writing student has developed an exhibition called Changing Perspectives. The UK exhibition, Streams of the Soul, makes use of creative writing, photography and film-making to relate the stories 25 families with similar backgrounds to his own. I loved the idea on reading this. It’s definitely an exhibition I’d see if only I could.

Use this idea today to write in your journal about your own family background. If you need to, step into the shoes of one of your own descendants and write the entry from their perspective. It doesn’t matter if you know very little about the real stories. Just write from your imagination about arriving in a new country, how it felt to leave the place once known as home, etc. Focus on emotion and the mammoth task of leaving one country for another. If this journal writing challenge leaves you with questions about your family background list what it is you want to know and start asking family members or doing your own research.

I hope you enjoy this journal writing challenge. Please leave any comments in the section below.

Today is Friday and that means it’s Freaky Friday. To learn more about this journal writing challenge please read the First Freaky Friday entry.
With Christmas coming closer and closer the evidence is obvious everywhere you go. On Wednesday the little guy had a chat with Santa at one of our local shopping centres. Decorations are everywhere. And we’re finalising our plans with family for the big day. What if you didn’t believe in the whole Christmas thing? I know some religions do not celebrate Christmas at all. But what if you personally did not participate in the gift giving, the [...]
Post from: Blisstree

With Christmas coming closer and closer the evidence is obvious everywhere you go. On Wednesday the little guy had a chat with Santa at one of our local shopping centres. Decorations are everywhere. And we’re finalising our plans with family for the big day. What if you didn’t believe in the whole Christmas thing? I know some religions do not celebrate Christmas at all. But what if you personally did not participate in the gift giving, the hype, the rush? Spend some time writing in your journal about what you’d do instead of getting into the craziness of Christmas.

See this as an opportunity to view your life from a different perspective. Put your heart into the idea and you might be surprised what you learn about yourself. I hope you enjoy this journal writing challenge. Please leave any comments in the section below.
