Friday Funny: “Don’t honk at old people”

There’s one piece of classical music that just about everyone in the so-called developed world has heard at least once in their life: Pachelbel’s Canon in D.

Some people love it (I’m one of the ones who loves it played properly), others loathe it because it is one of the most overplayed pieces ever. Here is a great rant that put a smile on my face:

Friday Funnies

This one may be a bit culturally insensitive but boy, did it make me laugh:

Siamese twins walk into a pub  in Vancouver, B.C.  and park themselves on a bar stool.

One of them says to the innkeeper, “Don’t mind us, we’re joined at the hip. I’m Joe, he’s Jim, we’ll have two Molson Canadian beers, draft please”

The innkeeper, feeling slightly awkward, tries to make polite conversation while pouring the beers. “Been on holiday yet, boys?”

“Off to England next month,” says Joe. “We go to England every year, rent a car and drive for miles, don’t we, Jim?” Jim agrees.

“Ah, England, “says the innkeeper.” Wonderful country… the history, the beer, the culture…”

“Nah, we don’t like that British crap,” says Joe. “Hamburgers & Molson’s beer, that’s us, eh Jim? And we can’t stand the English – they’re arrogant and rude.’

“So why keep going to England?” asks the innkeeper.

Joe replies, “It’s the only chance Jim gets to drive.”

Friday funnies – June 20

Friday Funnies took a break last week. I couldn’t find anything I wanted to put and I didn’t want to use LolCats yet again. Not that I have anything against them – I’m just looking for different things too. If you have any submissions for Friday Funnies, I’d love to know about them.

Thoughts for the weekend

Wouldn’t it be nice if whenever we messed up our life we could simply press ‘Ctr Alt Delete’ and start all over?

Just remember…if the world didn’t suck, we’d all fall off.

Friday funnies – May 23

A Professor’s Nursery Rhyme – see if you can figure out what childhood nursery rhyme has been translated into academese:

A research team proceeded towards the apex of a natural geologic
protuberance, the purpose of their expedition being the procurement
of a sample of fluid hydride of oxygen in a large vessel, the exact size of
which was unspecified.

One member of the team precipitously descended, sustaining severe
damage to the upper cranial portion of his anatomical structure; subsequently
the second member of the team performed a self-rotational translation
oriented in the same direction taken by the first team member.
