Holy Crapinola Gayla Strikes It Rich!

My blogging mentor and my Channel Editor at b5media, Gayla McCord, just struck it “rich” selling one of her blogs for $95,000.
Over at momgadget.com she writes a compelling story about learning how to do from reading Problogger, the book.
Problogger , Darren Rowse, featured her story on his website too - cause really is there better advertising than having the advice in it propel a blogger to fantastic success?
I’ve read Problogger, the book. And recommended it to several bloggy friends. It’s one of those books with so much valuable information in it that you take baby steps or get overwhelmed. Then go back and read it for more baby steps.
Salute to Gayla - who relied on her prayers during a tough time and then used her business savvy to not just recover from a natural disaster, but reinvented herself as an entrepreneur.
Instead of relaxing after her big sale, she launched two new businesses and hired 5 family members to work for her.
She’s some empowered woman. I’ve been marveling at how she even turns out the plethora of content she does and manages an entire team of writers and teenage children. That’s before I knew about two new businesses and negotiating a big blog deal. AWE. (No, I’m normally not a kiss up).
Read her incredible story in When You Don’t Know What To Do, Say a Prayer And Buy The Book.

Single Life (fill in the blank)

Every once in a while I hear a married person say, I wish I were single. . .
And for a minute I entertain the idea of what that would be like. So, I might visit Dating Dames.
Where I get a ring-side view on what it’s like to be single today.
Take this story on how you can require a date to fill out The Boyfriend/Girlfriend Application. There is even a space for Relationship Background and References. How romantic.
I like to ponder the great questions of life “Is it wrong to stay in a relationship just for the great sex?“ Certainly, I’ve stayed for lesser reasons.
Hollywood Hookups - Hot or Not? Do I think Zack Braff and Drew Barrymore are hot together? Um. No one is good enough for Drew. No one. Not that Zack Braff isn’t cute, no one is good enough.
And I get to look at really weighty questions about the nature of choosing a spouse: Is the topic of religion taboo in relationships? (Uh, just a warning - if you don’t talk about this while dating, you’re in for some unpleasant arguments at every religious milestone like baptisms, communion and confirmations of the children - it can get pretty hairy.)
Generally I end my trip down Single Lane by filling in the blank with SUCKS. Single Life SUCKS.
I end up pretty grateful I only have to guess what one man is thinking - the one I’m already married to.
