Flowers Wilt But the Gesture Lasts

Red CarnationI had a hard time coming back to write for Dating Dames cuz the topic I talk about here is often too personal and I’ve always wrote from the heart. If you missed it, I talked about my reason for being absent in my Losing Him post. It was my first try in writing again. It hurt. But enough about that. Now, I’m back. Hopefully, with more regular posts.

I’m off to another beach trip in an hour. I need this time to get away for a while. And before I head off to finish packing and getting ready, a thought came to me and I knew I just had to share.

Flowers. This gesture of going to the florist. Picking out the flowers she’ll love. Seeing people look at you as walk down the street holding them flowers. Walking up to her place wondering how she’ll react once she sees you holding them. And the actual moment that you give the flowers to them. Eyes bright with anticipation and affection. Hers filled with surprise and returned affection. What a romantic picture I’ve painted. Yes?

This practice of giving flowers (along with love letters) has been lost on some men, you see. I’ve heard some guys say that flowers aren’t their style. Also, there are women who thinks flowers are just a complete waste of money since they wilt and die. They eventually throw them out anyway.

Completely understandable. Not everyone will go about it the same way, anyway.

Though, I’ll leave you, dear readers, with this. It’s true that flowers wilt and die but the memories created by the gesture will last. And this is applicable to both parties.

Thoughts?

So, okay. He broke your heart. He’s been manipulative. He’s made a fool out of you. Yes. Go dump his sorry ass. We fully support you!

But here’s an idea. Why don’t you top it off by sending him a gift that’s carefully wrapped and bearing a tag that says “Good riddance!”? What would you give just to see his face when he opens it and sees this shirt?

Mr. Liar, one of the Little Losers from David & Goliath.

On second thought, why bother? I reckon he’s not worth the dollars you’ll spend on the said gift. All 24 of them. LOL.

Date Night Nightie, PlanetMomTshirts

The Date Night is the parental equivalent of the Playdate. The idea that we have to schedule appointments in order to spend time with our spouses is somewhat hilarious. This nightie tells your man that even though he no longer holds the door open or appears mesmerized by everything you say, you still appreciate your time alone with him. And, if he plays his cards right… who knows!PlanetMomTshirts

Oh, yes. Even married couples need a date night, too. And what better way to signify that it they’re on one or at least what a woman can do to hint that it should be a date night but to wear this nightie, eh?

I reckon this piece of garment isn’t limited to them moms or wives, if you’re living with a partner I should think you can wear something like it. We should never ever forget to make time to have that date night even when you do see them 24/7.

I’m sure the guy will find this really cute, too.

What do you guys think? Isn’t it a good idea for a gift?

I came across this great post over at Kinowear, which talked about hot new colognes and the power of scent. I for one am partial to guys who smell good, with or without colognes, simply because I’m very particular when it comes to my sense of smell. This post will help you guys get an idea on how Scents can actually improve your game.

You can expect the following to be discussed:

Arouse Her Senses
Finding The Best Colognes
Choosing a Unique Scent
Hot New Colognes
Some Classics
Some Top Picks From the Ladies
How to Test & Wear Cologne (important)
A Great Conversation Starter and Cologne Test
Remember The Power of Scent

For you ladies, feel free to check the post, too. Perhaps it can give you an idea on what to give your man this Christmas.

When He Takes You Shopping

IMG_4088-1Ah, the joys of being a woman. Shopping is one of the things most women find in common with other women. And the best shopping experience is when someone else is paying for your goodies. Hehe.

If you get the opportunity to meet teh boyfriend (mine), you’ll agree with me that he’s no fashion connoisseur, so, shopping is the least of his favourite things to do. But he humours me. He’d go with me in my shopping expeditions. Not that it’s a real chore cuz I’m a pretty decisive shopper but shopping is shopping. It bores him.

What made this last shopping trip pretty special was cuz it was a gift for our anniversary. He ‘laboured’ through the whole thing. He let me choose the things I want to buy at Mango and he paid for it. There you go. For women, it’s still a real treat even when there wasn’t any wrappings you had to pry open to see the gift cuz you actually get what you want.

For guys, isn’t this a nice treat for your woman? Sure, getting her a gift certificate will score major points but you being there while she shops adds value to the whole experience.

Have any of you ladies experience this? How was it?
