One of the inevitable consequences about being married for any length of time, is that you have more and more collective memories, and things from the present are increasingly likely to bring up that shared past. There are some draw backs to this – I have ready stock of jokes and quotes that Kerri, like it or not, knows she will hear for the rest of her life – but overall I think it’s a good thing.
A very good thing.

Tonight Kerri and I had a date. Nothing fancy. After eleven years of or marriage and three children sometimes is means dropping the kids off at Grandma’s and heading to Penn Station for a sub. Of course we talked about the kids a little (Samantha finished first grade this week – W00t!), but we also covered work, home, politics and money. An hour or so later we were on our way back to get the kids.
I know, I know… not a very romantic date. But a date nonetheless, because after all, what is a date? At this stage of life, …read more
