Garden Ready Doghouses

Most doghouses aren’t that attractive. However, Sustainable Pet Design makes green roof doghouses that are not only super attractive but garden ready.

Green roof homes for people are becoming more common, and they’re a good place to garden as well, but today we’re looking at a smaller version – the green roof home for animals. Made by Sustainable Pet Design, each of these green roof homes is lovely and green. Each home for a furry friend is custom built and sized to your pal. The doghouses are made with untreated red cedar planks, zero-VOC paint, and finished with beeswax for a …read more

Classic Offbeat Homes: Offbeat Homes for Pets

We don’t see many animal posts here. I’m not a big pet fan, and frankly, there are not too many animal homes. However, we have seen a smattering of pretty cool pet abodes and this is the focus of our classic Offbeat post this week.

Had I spent any time at their site though, I would have seen this incredible building.

From Mass Studies Architects:
“This proposal is an attempt to incorporate as much nature as possible into the building within the constraints of a low-elevation, high-density urban environment of limited space. The building defines its …read more

Green Roof Home + Alaska + Me = Fate

Remember the Alaska Beauty I recently posted? Maybe not since not one person commented on it! I however am obsessed with this house. Just the other day I found another photo of it purely by chance. At least I think it’s the same house — it looks like it from the green roof. It must be fate. I am fated to own this house. Or else it’s just a wildly popular Alaska haunt.
This shot of my fate house is lovely. Here you can see that I would have a lot of gardening to do. I’d probably need to quit writing …read more
