When your soul mate isn’t green

What happens when you meet the one and they’re not so green? Do you leave them and look for a greener soul mate? Should you send them to green boot camp? Well, it’s complicated. There are a few different types of non-greenies and hopefully yours falls into the “I just don’t know about green-living” camp or the “I’m trying to go green and need some help” camp.

Is Your Birth Control Green?

The Huffington Post has a nice little poll up about green birth control.  Actually, birth control is just not all that green. As the poll points out, no one is recycling condoms (obviously – and PS don’t try), the birth control pill may release excess estrogen into the water supply, and while copper IUDs may be the eco-friendliest of all, few women use them.

Green sex toys are the latest word in green gear; good news since sex toy use is prevalent in the U.S. and everywhere else in the world. Sex toy sales aren’t followed closely, so it’s impossible to know exactly how many are sold each year, but some general estimates include:

Number of vibrators sold in 2006 at Babeland: 167,250 (and that’s just the vibrators and way back in 2006)!
