As you may have noticed Blisstree Green is all about green living, and while health, in my opinion, is heavily related to green living, they’re not totally one and the same, and this is not technically this isn’t a health site. If you want to shop, but shop for an eco-cause, there are plenty of places that allow you to not only shop but to make a difference by donating a percentage of your purchase to an eco-cause of your choice.

Greenwashing all around us

An nice piece was recently posted at Sustainable Business; a Greenwashing on the Rise report. It’s pretty much a must read if you’re interested in how greenwashers are getting more creative with their lame greenwashing efforts. According to the piece, “Between 2007 and 2009, the in-store availability of so-called ‘green’ products has increased between 40% and 176%, with 98% of products surveyed still committing at least one Sin of Greenwashing.” Not cool right?!

Sustainability Becoming More Important

A new study released today by the Grocery Manufacturers Association and Deloitte indicates that 54 percent of Americans actively consider environmental sustainability characteristics in their buying decisions. However, while they may be considering green products, they only purchased such items on 22 percent of their shopping trips.
Additional findings include that 95 percent of consumers are open to ecologically-friendly products and that while 67 percent of those surveyed looked for green products, only 47 percent actually found them!
